The company told TechCrunch that it reached $400 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), up from a reported $300 million in January. In other words, the headline figure describes roughly $100 million of additional annualized run rate, not $100 million recognized in a single month.
That distinction still leaves an extraordinary growth story. Lovable reported $400 million ARR with 146 full-time employees—about $2.74 million of ARR per employee. By June 2026, it said its annualized revenue run rate had passed $500 million. Those are company-reported metrics, not audited public-company results, and they do not establish profitability.
What Lovable actually claimed
TechCrunch reported on March 11, 2026, that Lovable had crossed $400 million in ARR in February. The same report described the figure as an increase of about $100 million from the previous reported milestone. Lovable’s reported progression was:
| Reported milestone | Timing | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| $100 million ARR | July 2025 | Company-reported annualized recurring revenue |
| $200 million ARR | November 2025 | Company-reported annualized recurring revenue |
| $300 million ARR | January 2026 | Company-reported annualized recurring revenue |
| $400 million ARR | February 2026 | Company-reported annualized recurring revenue |
The figures and dates were reported by TechCrunch from company disclosures. They show acceleration, but they are not the same as audited financial statements.

ARR is not the same as monthly or recognized revenue
How the $100 million number works
ARR annualizes recurring subscription revenue. If a company’s recurring run rate rises from $300 million to $400 million, the difference is $100 million on an annualized basis. Dividing that increase by 12 produces about $8.33 million of additional monthly run-rate revenue—not $100 million booked during February.
Similarly, $400 million ARR is equivalent to approximately $33.3 million per month if the run rate held steady. Actual accounting revenue can differ because customers may pay annually, upgrade or cancel during the period, use credits unevenly, or buy non-recurring services. Recognized revenue follows accounting rules rather than a simple annualization formula.
Why the wording matters
A run rate can move quickly when a large contract starts or a temporary usage spike is extrapolated forward. ARR is useful for judging subscription momentum, but it does not reveal cash collected, gross margin, churn, refunds, or profit. Lovable has not established profitability through the figures cited here.
Why 146 employees makes the result look exceptional
TechCrunch attributed the 146-person full-time headcount to comments by Lovable chief revenue officer Ryan Meadows. Dividing $400 million of reported ARR by 146 employees gives approximately $2.74 million in ARR per full-time employee.

Lovable’s product-led distribution and self-serve subscriptions can support a small staff: users discover the product, generate applications, pay through plans or credits, and receive much of the onboarding inside the product. The company also planned to expand beyond 146 people, with TechCrunch reporting roughly 70 open positions at the time.
What Lovable sells
Lovable is an AI software-development platform for creating websites and web applications from natural-language instructions. Its positioning spans nontechnical builders, professional developers, and enterprise teams. The practical “vibe coding” workflow is:
- Describe an application or feature in ordinary language.
- Let the system generate or modify the underlying code.
- Review the result in a visual interface.
- Connect services such as databases, authentication, hosting, or external APIs.
- Continue the conversation to test, change, and extend the project.
This moves the starting point for software creation closer to a product brief, but it does not remove engineering work. Architecture, testing, security, debugging, deployment, data governance, and maintenance remain consequential.
Lovable’s pricing page describes credit-based plans, including daily build-credit grants and monthly Cloud and AI-feature credits on the free offering. Plans are based on credits rather than seats, and the page says workspace members are unlimited. Lovable also says users own their code and projects, subject to third-party rights in underlying AI models. That is helpful for ownership, but it is not a guarantee that every dependency, deployment path, or generated component is portable without work.
Who is using Lovable?
Lovable reported approximately 8 million users in March 2026. The company and its executives have cited customers or users including Klarna and HubSpot, and CEO Anton Osika said at Web Summit that more than half of Fortune 500 companies were using Lovable in some fashion. Those are attributed company or executive claims, not independently audited market-share figures.

Later reporting described projects such as:
- marketing sites and e-commerce storefronts;
- internal customer-relationship and inventory tools;
- human-resources platforms;
- startup prototypes and minimum viable products.
In June, Lovable said users were creating one million new projects per week and that its annualized revenue run rate had exceeded $500 million. Project volume demonstrates reported activity, not the number of paying customers, retention, production deployments, or profit.
Why growth may have accelerated
Product-led distribution
Anyone can try an app-building workflow before speaking with sales. A successful prototype can be shared internally or publicly, creating a natural referral loop.
Recommended Free Tools
A broad pool of underserved builders
Founders, marketers, designers, operators, and small businesses often need software but do not have enough engineering capacity. Better foundation models make the first version faster and more accessible.
Credit-based monetization
Credits let Lovable charge for generation and cloud usage while allowing many workspace members to collaborate. Revenue can rise as projects become larger or use more AI features.
Enterprise expansion
Companies may begin with experiments and then buy security controls, administration, governance, support, and procurement features. That path can turn individual usage into larger recurring contracts, although a pilot is not the same as a production standard.

Lovable said more than 500,000 projects were built or updated during its March 8 SheBuilds promotion, versus a typical daily average of about 200,000. A promotional burst can increase awareness and usage without proving durable conversion or retention.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe enterprise bet is harder than the demo
Enterprise adoption requires more than generating a working screen. Buyers typically evaluate access management, auditability, data handling, security reviews, reliability, support response, and who is accountable when an application fails.
TechCrunch later identified Workday, Asana, and Nvidia among Lovable’s enterprise users. “Using” can mean an employee experiment, a team pilot, a paid prototype, or a company-wide production deployment; the available reporting does not establish which level applies to each logo.
The key business question is how many experiments become long-lived production systems, and how much recurring revenue comes from enterprise accounts rather than short-lived self-serve usage.
Funding and valuation context
The March coverage linked Lovable’s enterprise prospects to a reported $6.6 billion valuation. On July 8, 2026, TechCrunch reported that Lovable was reportedly in talks to raise $300 million at a $13.2 billion valuation. That was described as a fundraising discussion, not a confirmed completed financing. A valuation is not revenue, cash raised, or profit.

Where Lovable fits in the AI app-builder market
| Product | Primary audience and emphasis |
|---|---|
| Lovable | Natural-language website and web-app creation for nontechnical builders, teams, and enterprises |
| Replit | Browser-based development environment with AI agents, databases, hosting, and collaboration |
| Bolt | Browser-based AI website and app builder with hosting, databases, custom domains, and token-based usage |
| Cursor | Developer-focused AI editor for working inside existing codebases |
| Vercel v0 | Adjacent interface and application generation within Vercel’s ecosystem |
Replit and Cursor are prominent competitors in the category, but they address different starting points. Lovable’s opportunity is to make software creation accessible to people who do not begin with a conventional development environment. Its risk is that competitors can bundle similar capabilities into tools customers already use.
What could make the headline misleading
- Run rate versus recognized revenue: $400 million ARR does not mean $400 million of reported accounting revenue.
- Usage versus retention: project counts can include experiments, duplicates, free promotions, and abandoned prototypes.
- Revenue per employee versus profit: the ratio says nothing about model, infrastructure, support, or acquisition costs.
- Enterprise logos versus deployment depth: a single employee’s trial is materially different from a production-wide contract.
- Model dependence: Lovable may rely on providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, as well as cloud and database vendors. Their pricing, availability, and capabilities can affect margins and product quality.
The maintenance test for vibe-coded software
Generating a first prototype may be the easiest part. Later reporting on Lovable highlighted maintenance as the harder test because applications depend on changing frameworks, APIs, databases, authentication systems, infrastructure, and security practices.
Prototype
Natural-language generation can shorten the time from idea to a demonstrable interface.
Production
Deployment requires automated tests, observability, permissions, secrets management, backups, performance controls, and a responsible human owner.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Long-term operation
Teams must handle dependency updates, regressions, data migrations, security vulnerabilities, changing model behavior, and staff turnover. A project that works today can become expensive to maintain if its architecture is poorly understood.
Questions to answer before buying
- Can the complete code be exported and deployed outside Lovable?
- Who owns the database, and can data be migrated in a usable format?
- How are authentication, authorization, secrets, and sensitive data handled?
- What are the limits and marginal costs for AI generations, hosting, traffic, and storage?
- What data-residency, privacy, and security commitments apply to the plan?
- What support response times and recovery options are available?
- Can a human developer take over when generated code becomes inconsistent?
- Does the platform support the required backend, mobile, native, or regulated architecture?
What investors and business buyers should watch next
The decisive evidence will be deeper than headline ARR. Useful indicators include:
- the number and growth of paying accounts;
- net revenue retention and customer churn;
- gross margin after model inference and hosting;
- the share of ARR from enterprise contracts;
- how many projects remain active after 30, 90, and 180 days;
- how many generated applications reach production;
- support costs and the frequency of serious deployment failures;
- dependence on particular model, cloud, database, or hosting suppliers.
Lovable’s June claim of more than $500 million in annualized revenue run rate suggests that momentum continued after the February milestone. It does not resolve the accounting, margin, retention, or maintenance questions.
Bottom line
Lovable’s “$100 million last month” headline is best understood as a claim that it added about $100 million to its annualized revenue run rate, reaching $400 million ARR with 146 employees. That is a powerful signal about product-led distribution and demand for AI-assisted software creation, but it is not proof that the company recognized $100 million in February, generated equivalent profit, or has durable production adoption. The long-term verdict will depend on retention, gross margins, enterprise conversion, and whether generated applications remain reliable and maintainable after the initial demo.
