No—the Verizon free Xbox Series X promotion is not available now. The deal covered by the January 2, 2024 reports expired on January 3, 2024. It offered a console to qualifying Verizon Home Internet customers, subject to activation, redemption and service requirements. Do not sign up in 2026 expecting that promotion to be honored.
What Verizon offered
The 2024 promotion could provide an Xbox Series X to eligible new or newly qualifying Verizon Home Internet customers. Depending on the offer attached to the customer’s address and account, the promotion also presented a choice involving a $200 Amazon gift card or an Amazon Echo Show 10. It was associated with qualifying 5G Home, LTE Home and Fios offers, but the required plan varied by location. Droid Life reported the console’s then-current standalone value as $499.99.
“Final chance” referred to the approaching expiration date, not a permanent Verizon benefit. The promotion was advertised through January 3, 2024. The original coverage and terms did not make every Verizon mobile or Home Internet customer eligible.
The dates that mattered
| Event | Date or deadline |
|---|---|
| Promotion sign-up deadline | January 3, 2024 |
| Redemption requirement | Within 60 days after activation or installation, or by April 3, 2024, whichever came first |
| Current status | Expired; neither date is actionable in August 2026 |
The April 3 backstop was for customers who had already qualified under the original promotion. It did not extend the opportunity to new sign-ups after January 3.

Who qualified—and who did not
- Eligibility generally required signing up for a qualifying Verizon Home Internet plan, with the qualifying tier determined by the service address.
- Existing Verizon mobile customers could receive a bundled Home Internet discount, but mobile service alone did not produce an Xbox.
- Fios, 5G Home and LTE Home availability and plan requirements differed by address.
- Verizon’s Home Internet offer rules generally limited an account to one promotional offer.
The controlling terms were the offer attached to the order or account, not a headline or an agent’s verbal description. Verizon’s current Home Internet offers FAQ explains that present offers are account- and address-specific.
Why “free” did not mean no cost
The Xbox was a promotional item provided after the customer entered a qualifying Home Internet relationship. The customer still owed the monthly service cost, taxes and fees, and any applicable equipment, installation or setup charges. The economic commitment also included the risk of losing the promotion if service ended too soon.

The 2024 terms required qualifying service to remain active for 180 days. The exact starting event and consequences should always be checked in the individual promotion’s terms.

- Sign in to My Verizon on the website.
- Open the account page and select Make the most of your plans.
- Select the Get Xbox Series X on us tile.
- Review and accept the promotional terms.
- Select the Xbox offer, confirm shipping information and submit the order.
Verizon community support instructions said historical delivery could take up to six weeks after redemption, and expedited shipping did not necessarily shorten the promotional fulfillment window. See Verizon’s redemption discussion for that historical guidance.
If you qualified but never received the console
A missing tile does not by itself prove that Verizon owes the promotion. The offer may have been waiting for its eligibility period, already redeemed, past its deadline, removed after a cancellation or downgrade, unavailable to that account, or affected by a provisioning error.

Verizon’s current support documentation describes a general offer system; it does not revive the 2024 Series X promotion. Some current offers are immediate, while others require a 14- to 65-day waiting period, followed by a 60-day redemption window. Timing and fulfillment vary by offer, inventory and third-party provider. Check the tile displayed in your own account before relying on any promotion.
The Verizon Home Internet offers page showed an indexed example of 5G Home Plus at $45 per month with Auto Pay and a qualifying postpaid Verizon mobile phone plan, plus a possible up-to-$500 bill credit for certain new customers switching from another provider and incurring an early termination fee. Availability, eligibility and terms vary by address and can change; those figures are not the old Xbox offer.
Should you switch providers for an Xbox promotion?
Use the console only as a bonus. Before choosing Home Internet, compare:
- Actual monthly cost after discounts and the length of any price guarantee.
- Expected speed, latency and data suitability for your household.
- Equipment, installation and professional setup charges.
- The exact promotional item, waiting period and redemption deadline shown in My Verizon.
- The 180-day cancellation or downgrade language.
- Any early-termination cost from your current provider.
- Whether Verizon service would still be worthwhile without hardware.
If you want an Xbox now without changing Internet providers, Verizon’s Xbox All Access information describes a different product: an example of $24.99 per month for 24 months at 0% APR, or $599.76 total, including the console and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate under that arrangement. It is financing, requires eligibility, and creates a payment obligation; it is not a free-console promotion.
A direct purchase from Microsoft Xbox avoids a telecom commitment, although current price, stock, bundles and financing must be checked at purchase. Xbox Game Pass may suit someone who already owns compatible hardware, but a subscription does not replace the console.

Bottom line
The Verizon Xbox Series X promotion was legitimate but historical. Its sign-up deadline was January 3, 2024, its final redemption backstop was April 3, 2024, and the qualifying service carried a 180-day commitment under the cited terms. In 2026, subscribe to Verizon only if the service makes sense on its own and rely solely on the current offer shown in your My Verizon account.
