The strongest deals at the time were the LG B4 48-inch OLED for $599.99 at Best Buy, Hisense’s U7N 65-inch mini-LED/QLED for about $678–$700, and Samsung’s 65-inch S90D OLED for about $1,348–$1,398. Those were historical prices, not current offers; stock and prices changed during the day. The best pick depended on whether you valued OLED contrast, a larger bright-room screen, gaming features, or the lowest possible bill.
This guide preserves the 2024 offers as a dated buying record and explains the trade-offs behind them. For price context, Engadget’s December 2 coverage said many offers continued from Black Friday and had been available for weeks; a Cyber Monday label alone did not make a discount exceptional.
Quick picks: the TV deals that stood out
| Category | Model and size | Historical price and retailer | Why it stood out | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lowest-cost OLED | LG B4, 48 inches | $599.99 at Best Buy | OLED contrast, Dolby Vision, and 120Hz at an unusually accessible price. | Smaller than the larger living-room sets in this guide. |
| Premium OLED value | Samsung S90D, 65 inches | $1,348 at Walmart; about $1,398 at Amazon | The 65-inch version used a QD-OLED panel and offered a large-screen OLED option below the C4’s listed price. | Panel technology varied by size; Samsung sets do not support Dolby Vision. |
| Best all-round OLED | LG C4, 65 inches | $1,499.99 at Best Buy | A strong premium choice for movies and gaming. | Cost more than the B4 and the listed S90D offer. |
| Affordable mini-LED | Hisense U6N, 55 inches | About $350 at Best Buy | Quantum dots, mini-LED backlighting, and full-array local dimming at a low price. | 60Hz refresh rate and limited side viewing. |
| Value step-up for a bright room | Hisense U7N, 65 inches | About $678–$700 at Amazon or Best Buy | A larger, brighter step up with 4K gaming up to 144Hz. | Only two HDMI 2.1 gaming-friendly ports; side viewing and uniformity can be weak points. |
| Premium non-OLED | Sony Bravia 7, 65 inches | About $1,398 at Amazon or Best Buy | Mini-LED/QLED performance and strong straight-on viewing. | Side-view performance is poor, making seating layout important. |
| Budget small TV | Insignia F20, 24 inches | $59.99 at Amazon | Very inexpensive secondary-room set with Fire TV built in. | HD, not 4K, and not a home-theater picture-quality pick. |
| Largest-screen bargain | Samsung DU9000, 98 inches | $2,499.99 at Best Buy | A huge screen for a price far below most premium giant TVs. | Basic LED performance; delivery, room fit, and installation can materially affect total cost. |

How to choose: OLED or QLED/mini-LED?
Choose OLED for dark-room movies, contrast, and wide seating
OLED pixels emit their own light, so a pixel can turn off for black. That gives OLED sets excellent dark-scene contrast and broad viewing angles, with fast pixel response that also suits gaming. The 48-inch LG B4 was the least expensive OLED recommendation here; the 65-inch LG C4 was the more complete premium choice, while the 65-inch Samsung S90D was a lower-priced large OLED alternative.

The S90D needs a size-specific caveat: the 65-inch model was QD-OLED, but panel technology varied across sizes in the S90D family. Do not assume another size has the same panel. OLED is also not automatically the best choice for a very bright room or for a screen displaying static images for long periods. Usage patterns and the specific model matter; do not treat OLED burn-in or image retention as impossible.
Choose mini-LED/QLED for brightness and screen size per dollar
Mini-LED LCD sets use many small backlights and local dimming; quantum dots are used to produce a broader range of color. They can be a practical fit for daytime viewing, sports, or shoppers who want a bigger screen for less than a comparable OLED. The Hisense U6N, U7N, and U8N represented progressively more capable options, while the Sony Bravia 7 offered a more premium non-OLED alternative.
LCD-based sets can show blooming around bright objects on dark backgrounds, narrower viewing angles, or panel-uniformity problems. Those are not abstract concerns for these picks: Engadget flagged the U6N’s limited side viewing, while WIRED noted possible dirty-screen-effect uniformity issues with the U7N and poor side viewing on the Bravia 7. See Engadget’s deal coverage and WIRED’s Cyber Monday TV coverage.
Best OLED TV deals
LG B4, 48 inches: OLED without a four-figure price
At $599.99 at Best Buy, the B4 was a standout for shoppers who wanted OLED rather than a larger basic LCD. Its self-lit pixels, Dolby Vision support, and 120Hz refresh rate made it a capable movie-and-gaming option. The compromise is size: at 48 inches it may be better suited to a bedroom, smaller den, or desk-adjacent setup than a large living room.

The 65-inch C4 was about $1,499.99 at Best Buy. It was the more straightforward all-round OLED recommendation for a main viewing room if its price fit the budget. LG’s official holiday promotion advertised discounts of up to $1,199 on the 65-inch C4, but “up to” describes a maximum promotion claim, not a universal saving on every configuration. LG also advertised free wall mounting or stand setup for qualifying LG.com purchases under specified terms and dates. The promotion ran through early December, with some offers ending December 2 or December 8. Details appear in LG’s November 2024 promotion announcement.

Samsung S90D, 65 inches: a cheaper large OLED, with a format caveat
The 65-inch S90D was listed for $1,348 at Walmart and about $1,398 at Amazon. The 65-inch model’s QD-OLED panel made it a compelling price-to-picture-quality choice. Confirm the size and full model number before comparing offers: panel type varied within the S90D range. Samsung also does not support Dolby Vision, so buyers who specifically want that HDR format should compare the LG options.
Best mini-LED and QLED deals
Hisense U6N, 55 inches: affordable local dimming
At about $350 at Best Buy, the U6N combined quantum dots, mini-LED, and full-array local dimming at a low price for a 55-inch set. It was a stronger value proposition than a basic LED if you wanted richer color and local dimming, but its 60Hz refresh rate makes it less suitable for 120Hz console or PC gaming. Its limited viewing angle also favors seating directly in front of the screen.
Hisense U7N, 65 inches: large, bright, and gaming-capable
At roughly $678–$700 at Amazon or Best Buy, the 65-inch U7N offered a notably large screen and 4K gaming up to 144Hz. It was one of the most persuasive choices for shoppers balancing price, daytime brightness, and gaming features. It has only two gaming-friendly HDMI 2.1 ports, so count the high-bandwidth connections needed for consoles, a PC, and an eARC soundbar. Seating far off-center and uniformity-sensitive sports viewing are potential compromises.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsHisense U8N, 65 inches: more brightness for about $898
The U8N’s historical 65-inch price was about $898 at Amazon or Best Buy. It was the step-up option for shoppers who wanted a brighter, higher-end mini-LED set than the U7N. Choose it when room brightness is a priority and the additional spend is justified; do not assume a brighter specification alone guarantees better performance from every seat or in every scene.
Sony Bravia 7, 65 inches: premium LCD for straight-on viewing
At around $1,398 at Amazon or Best Buy, the Bravia 7 was a premium mini-LED/QLED choice with strong straight-on performance. Its weak side-view performance is a meaningful drawback for wide sofas or a room where viewers sit well off-axis. It is best considered when the main seats face the screen rather than as a universal room pick.

Hisense U9N, 75 inches: big and bright at a premium
The 75-inch U9N was about $1,998 at Amazon. It targeted shoppers looking for a large, very bright premium set rather than a low-cost screen. Check the room and viewing distance before paying for its size, and compare delivery access and mounting logistics as part of the total purchase.
Best budget and basic TV deals
Insignia F20, 24 inches: a secondary-room screen
The 24-inch F20 was $59.99 at Amazon. Its appeal was low cost and built-in Fire TV, not sharpness or cinematic performance: it is an HD television, not 4K. It made sense for a kitchen, dorm, or secondary display where a modest screen and simple streaming access mattered most.

The 43-inch QD5 was about $160 at Best Buy. WIRED described it as bright and responsive for the price, while making clear it was not a premium main-room television. It could suit a guest room or a tight budget, but shoppers should not equate the QLED label with the contrast, local dimming, or gaming capability of a higher-tier set.
Roku Plus Series, 55 inches: simple software, moderate performance
The 55-inch Roku Plus Series was about $400 at Best Buy. Its built-in Roku interface was a convenience advantage for people who want straightforward app and input navigation. WIRED characterized its picture quality as baseline and noted its 60Hz refresh rate, so it was a streaming-first value pick rather than a high-refresh gaming recommendation.
Best giant-screen deals
Samsung DU6950, 75 inches: inexpensive size
Best Buy listed the 75-inch DU6950 at $549.99. It was a basic 4K large-screen option for shoppers prioritizing screen area over premium contrast, local dimming, or high refresh rates. NBC Select included it among its Cyber Monday offers; see its December 2024 deal coverage.

TCL QM7, 98 inches: a giant mini-LED alternative
The 98-inch TCL QM7 was about $1,998 at Best Buy. It offered a mini-LED/QLED alternative to the Samsung DU9000 at a lower historical price, but at this size the room and logistics are central to the decision. Measure doorways, stairs, elevators, the intended wall, and furniture before ordering.

Samsung DU9000, 98 inches: a very large basic LED
The 98-inch DU9000 was $2,499.99 at Best Buy. Its attraction was extreme screen size at a comparatively accessible historical price, not the picture refinements of a premium OLED or mini-LED. A 98-inch purchase may also bring delivery, mounting, wall-strength, and installation costs that change the overall value.
Which deals made sense for gaming?
For a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or gaming PC, prioritize verified support rather than a generic “gaming TV” label. Check the exact size and model for native refresh rate, 4K/120Hz or higher on the intended input, HDMI 2.1 port count, variable refresh rate (VRR), and auto low-latency mode. A 60Hz set such as the U6N or Roku Plus can handle casual gaming, but cannot show the full high-refresh output of compatible consoles and PCs.
- Most gaming features for the money: The U7N supported 4K gaming up to 144Hz, but had only two gaming-friendly HDMI 2.1 ports.
- OLED gaming choices: The LG B4 and C4 combined 120Hz support with OLED’s fast response characteristics.
- Check your connections: Count consoles, PC connections, and soundbar/eARC needs; confirm the feature works on the input you plan to use.
Port counts and features vary by model, so verify the full product specification for the exact size before buying. An HDMI 2.1 label by itself does not establish every gaming feature or guarantee that all inputs support the same bandwidth.

A large “save” figure can be calculated against an MSRP that is rarely charged. A better test is the observed selling price over time, the exact configuration, and whether the offer imposed conditions. Engadget reported that many Cyber Monday prices were continuations of Black Friday offers and that some had been available for weeks. NBC Select said it used price trackers where possible and generally looked for at least a 20% discount. These are editorial approaches, not proof that every listed price was a genuine low.

- Compare against street price: Use recent selling prices rather than MSRP alone. A discount from an inflated reference price may not be meaningful.
- Check price history and timing: Determine whether the price had already been available for weeks or had recently fallen. The day of the promotion does not guarantee the lowest price.
- Match the exact model: Confirm screen size, full model number, and retailer suffix. Variants may differ in panel, processor, speakers, refresh rate, or dimming behavior.
- Read the checkout terms: Check for membership, card, coupon, or automatic-promotion requirements, and confirm the seller is the retailer rather than an unknown marketplace seller.
- Confirm condition and return terms: Make sure the set is new rather than open-box or refurbished, and review delivery damage, return shipping, restocking, and return-window policies.

Before ordering a large TV
- Measure viewing distance, furniture width and depth, stand footprint, doorway clearance, stairs, and elevator access.
- For a wall mount, confirm the mounting pattern, wall construction, mount capacity, and whether installation is included or separately charged.
- Account for delivery, installation, haul-away, a mount, and any streaming device or soundbar needed to solve a specific problem.
- After delivery, inspect the box before signing where possible, photograph visible damage, and keep packaging until the TV has been tested.
- During the return period, check pixels, screen uniformity, HDMI connections, Wi-Fi, speakers, and remote operation.
LG’s offer of free wall mounting or stand setup applied only to qualifying LG.com purchases and was subject to its terms and promotional dates; it should not be assumed for every LG set or retailer order.
Streaming-device option for an existing TV
If the television itself is good but its built-in software is slow, cluttered, or difficult to navigate, a separate streamer can be a more sensible purchase than replacing the screen. NBC Select listed a Roku Streaming Stick 4K at $29, down from $49.99, during its 2024 coverage. That is an expired historical price, not a current quote. A streamer is unnecessary if the TV’s apps already work well and you do not want another device or remote. Roku’s product page is here.
How to decide from these historical offers
For movie-first OLED value, the LG B4 was the entry choice and the C4 the larger premium pick; for a 65-inch OLED at a lower recorded price, the Samsung S90D was compelling if the size-specific panel and lack of Dolby Vision suited you. For a bright room or more screen per dollar, the Hisense U7N and U8N were stronger candidates, with the U7N especially notable for high-refresh gaming. For the lowest spend, the Insignia F20 or Hisense QD5 served different small-screen needs. The giant-screen sets were worthwhile only when the room, delivery route, and full setup cost made sense.
Because the Cyber Monday 2024 window has passed, these prices should not guide a current checkout without fresh verification. In that sale, waiting for a Cyber Monday-only cut was not necessarily advantageous: many offers carried over from Black Friday, and stock could change before the next price move.
