Short answer: Comcast’s Xfinity and Perplexity did offer eligible Xfinity Rewards members 12 months of Perplexity Pro at no subscription charge, but the published signup deadline was August 29, 2025. That public promotion should now be treated as expired. If you already have Xfinity, sign in to your account and check the current Membership benefits dashboard for a replacement or personalized offer; do not assume an old code still works.
What the original Xfinity–Perplexity offer was
Perplexity announced the partnership on August 29, 2024. Eligible Xfinity Rewards members could retrieve a unique promotional code from their Xfinity account and use it for one year of Perplexity Pro. The announcement described a 12-month subscription—not lifetime access, cash, or an automatic benefit for every Comcast customer. See Perplexity’s promotion announcement.

The deadline was for registering the promotion. Someone who activated before that date could have had access for a year from activation, subject to the account’s terms. The deadline does not by itself establish when every already-redeemed subscription ended.
Can Xfinity customers still claim it?
Not the original public promotion. The August 29, 2025 signup deadline has passed, so articles or social posts that say Xfinity customers can generally get a free year are out of date.

Xfinity replaced the Rewards experience with Xfinity Membership in January 2026. Comcast’s current membership page directs customers to sign in and view personalized benefits, but it does not list the old Perplexity promotion as a universal current benefit. Check Xfinity Membership or the account dashboard at customer.xfinity.com/membership. A benefit displayed inside your own signed-in account is stronger evidence than an old email, coupon page, or forum post.
Do not interpret the absence of Perplexity as proof that Xfinity will never run another promotion. It means only that the historical offer should not be presented as active unless Xfinity shows a new, current benefit to you.
Who qualified under the historical terms?
The Perplexity offer was aimed at active Xfinity Rewards members, not all Comcast customers. It also required a unique code and excluded people who already had a Perplexity Pro account under the published terms.

Xfinity’s current Membership FAQ says customers with at least one eligible active service may receive membership benefits. Listed services include:
- Xfinity Internet
- Internet Essentials
- Xfinity TV
- Eligible NOW TV services
- Xfinity Mobile
- Xfinity Voice
- Xfinity Home Security
- Xfinity Smart Home
The current program also excludes some arrangements, including bulk accounts paid by a third party and Xfinity Prepaid Internet. Those rules describe today’s Membership program and should not automatically be treated as identical to the 2024–2025 Perplexity eligibility rules. Xfinity controls account-specific eligibility.
How redemption worked when the offer was active
The following is the historical process. Some labels have changed since Xfinity moved from Rewards to Membership, and the old promotion may no longer appear.

- Sign in to the primary Xfinity account associated with the eligible residential service.
- Open the Rewards area, or the current Membership benefits area if a replacement offer is shown.
- Find the Perplexity Pro benefit and reveal or copy the unique code.
- Follow Xfinity’s redemption link or Perplexity’s promotion page.
- Sign in to an eligible Perplexity account, or create one if required.
- Enter the code and confirm the promotional subscription.
- Save the end date shown in Perplexity’s account or billing settings.
- Review whether a payment method is requested and whether the subscription will renew after the promotional period.
Redeem on the Perplexity account you intend to keep. A code applied to the wrong account may not be transferable.
What to do if an offer or code is missing
No Perplexity benefit appears
- Sign out and back in to the primary account holder’s Xfinity login; an authorized household user may not see every benefit.
- Check both the main benefits dashboard and any redeemed-benefits section.
- Confirm that the service is an eligible residential Xfinity service under the current Membership rules.
- Assume that no displayed offer means there is no current account-level Perplexity promotion, rather than searching for a shared code online.
The code is rejected
A rejection can mean the code is expired, already used, tied to another account, or restricted to new Pro users. Do not use codes from coupon sites, forums, or social posts. Contact Xfinity for account-specific eligibility. For a genuine historical redemption problem, Perplexity’s published article directed users to [email protected].

Check the Perplexity account used at redemption, payment verification, and the promotion status before assuming Xfinity canceled anything. Community reports describe missing or delayed codes and account-specific access problems, but they are user reports rather than universal policy. Examples include a missing-code report and a reported 2026 access issue.

Does “free” mean no payment information?
Not necessarily. Perplexity says promotional subscriptions may require a valid credit card for verification. Its support guidance says the user is not charged during the promotional period, but failing to add a required payment method can pause the promotion and eventually return the account to the free tier. - Read the checkout screen before confirming.
- Screenshot the offer and the displayed expiration date.
- Set a reminder before the 12 months end.
- Cancel renewal if you do not want a paid subscription afterward.
- If billing is through Apple or Google, cancel through that same app store; web subscriptions generally use Perplexity’s web billing controls.
What Perplexity Pro includes today
Perplexity’s current feature set is different from the tools and model names mentioned in the 2024 announcement. Its current help page describes Pro as providing:
- More Pro Search access
- Greater access to advanced AI models, subject to availability and usage limits
- More file and photo uploads
- Extended Research access
- Image-generation capabilities
- Limited video-generation access
- More citations per answer than the free tier

Should you switch to Xfinity for this deal?
No. An expired Perplexity promotion is not a sound reason to sign up for broadband service. Compare Xfinity’s total cost—including equipment, taxes, data terms, regional availability, and the length of any introductory price—with competing internet service. Xfinity’s internet-deals page is useful for current service terms, not proof that the Perplexity offer remains available.
- Already have Xfinity and see a current benefit: Redeem it after checking the account, eligibility, and renewal terms.
- Have Xfinity but see no benefit: Do not buy a separate code or rely on an old headline; the historical offer has ended.
- Do not have Xfinity: Choose broadband on price, reliability, data policy, and service quality—not on the basis of this expired AI promotion.
- Want Perplexity Pro now: Compare the paid plan with Perplexity’s free tier and other services such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Google One using each provider’s current official pricing.
Bottom line for Xfinity customers
The Xfinity–Perplexity partnership was legitimate, but its publicly stated signup deadline was August 29, 2025. Treat the widely repeated “free year” claim as historical unless a new Perplexity benefit appears in your signed-in Xfinity Membership account. Never pay for an unofficial code, and check renewal and payment requirements before accepting any promotional subscription.
