Samsung officially listed the Galaxy Book5 Edge 5G (model NP755XRA-KA1UK) in the UK on 14 November 2025 at an original list price of £949. It combines a Snapdragon X processor, 16GB of memory, 512GB eUFS storage and a built-in sub-6GHz 5G modem. Samsung’s UK product page now says “No longer available”, so £949 is a historical launch price rather than a current selling price.

Specifications are from Samsung’s listing; camera, speaker and battery-capacity details are cross-checked in Gadgets 360’s report. That report puts the battery at about 61.5Wh, while another reference gives 61.2Wh, so “about 61Wh” is the safest description.
Why the integrated 5G matters
The Edge 5G includes a SIM-plus-microSD slot and a sub-6GHz modem. With a compatible mobile-data plan, it can connect without Wi-Fi, phone tethering or a separate hotspot. That is useful for commuters, field staff, students and travellers who regularly work outside dependable wireless networks.

- 5G performance depends on local coverage, signal strength, network congestion and the carrier’s supported bands.
- A SIM slot does not guarantee service. Confirm that the plan allows laptop or tablet data, check APN and roaming rules, and verify band compatibility.
- The Samsung page confirms a SIM slot, but does not establish eSIM support.
- US carrier compatibility was not established for this UK model.
Integrated cellular connectivity is a convenience feature, not a performance upgrade. A Wi-Fi-only laptop plus a phone hotspot may be cheaper if you already have suitable mobile data.
Copilot+ and Samsung software
Samsung identifies the machine as a Copilot+ PC and specifies a 45-TOPS Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. Its product page highlights Recall, Cocreator, Live Captions with translation, Windows Studio Effects and a dedicated Copilot key. Samsung also promotes Phone Link, Quick Share, connected-camera support, Galaxy Buds Auto Switch and Knox security features.

TOPS describes supported neural-processing throughput; it is not a measure of overall CPU speed, graphics performance or application responsiveness. Windows AI features can vary with Windows updates, region, language, account status and Microsoft’s requirements, so buyers should verify the features they actually need.
Display, storage and portability trade-offs
Large but conventional display
The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel is practical for documents, spreadsheets and media, and its anti-glare finish suits office lighting. At 1,920 × 1,080, it provides less workspace and sharpness than 2.5K or 3K screens. It is also not an AMOLED panel, so buyers prioritising deep blacks or high-contrast colour should compare Samsung’s premium models and other OLED laptops.

eUFS rather than a conventional NVMe SSD
Samsung lists 512GB of eUFS storage. That may be adequate for everyday work, but buyers moving large media files or expecting desktop-class storage performance should compare laptops with PCIe NVMe SSDs. The available documentation does not establish whether the storage can be replaced, so do not assume an upgrade path.
Portable for 15.6 inches
At about 1.66kg and 15.5mm thick, it is reasonably portable for a large-screen notebook, but it is heavier than most 13- or 14-inch ultraportables. The built-in modem can remove a hotspot from your bag; it does not make the laptop itself a small travel machine.

Battery claims and real-world expectations
Samsung’s “up to 27 hours” figure is a manufacturer video-runtime claim, not an independent test. The same applies to the claim of reaching 43% charge in approximately 30 minutes with the 65W charger. Actual endurance will change with 5G activity and signal quality, screen brightness, streaming versus productivity work, browser tabs, background applications and Windows power settings.

The Snapdragon X platform uses ARM architecture. Many mainstream Windows applications run through native versions or emulation, but important workloads should be checked individually. Pay particular attention to Adobe plug-ins, engineering and accounting software, older VPN clients, specialist peripherals, device utilities and games with anti-cheat systems. The correct assumption is not that all Windows software fails, but that compatibility is workload-specific.

Who the laptop suits
Good fit
- You specifically need a Windows laptop with built-in cellular data.
- You travel or work in places where Wi-Fi is unreliable and your carrier supports the device.
- You use Samsung Galaxy phones, Buds or tablets and value the company’s integration features.
- Your work is primarily office, education, communication and browser-based productivity.
Reasons to hesitate
- The official UK page no longer offers the laptop, and no US launch or price is confirmed.
- You want an AMOLED or high-resolution, colour-critical display.
- You require upgradeable NVMe storage, dedicated graphics or gaming performance.
- Your essential software depends on specialised x86 drivers or legacy Windows tools.
- You would rarely use 5G and already have inexpensive phone tethering.
Checks for imported or second-hand units
- Confirm the keyboard layout and the charger plug supplied.
- Ask the seller or carrier to verify supported 5G bands, SIM activation and laptop-data-plan rules.
- Check whether roaming works in the countries where you will use it.
- Confirm that Samsung warranty and service coverage apply in your country.
- Test Windows, Samsung and carrier features in your region before relying on them for work.
- Compare the total used price with newer laptops that have current warranty, NVMe storage or a better display.
Verdict
The Galaxy Book5 Edge 5G’s distinctive feature is genuine integrated sub-6GHz connectivity in a mainstream 15.6-inch Windows laptop. Its 16GB memory, useful port selection and Copilot+ hardware make it credible for mobile productivity, while the Full HD IPS screen, eUFS storage and ARM compatibility require careful trade-offs. In 2026, availability is the decisive issue: Samsung’s UK page says “No longer available,” so treat £949 solely as the original UK list price and evaluate any remaining or used unit on its actual price, carrier support and warranty.
