What subscribers actually received
The bundle paired Disney+ Basic with ads and Hulu with ads. Billing was monthly, not a single prepaid annual charge, and subscribers could use each service’s catalog.
- It did not include ad-free Hulu or ad-free Disney+.
- It did not include ESPN+, Hulu + Live TV, live sports, or premium network add-ons.
- Selected Hulu programming could appear in Disney+, but the full Hulu catalog was not guaranteed inside the Disney+ app. Additional Hulu content remained available through the Hulu app.

Was it the best Black Friday streaming deal?
“Best” depends on what you wanted. The $2.99 promotion was a strong candidate for best bundle deal because it delivered two major catalogs for less than $36 before tax during the first year. Mashable separately identified Hulu’s $0.99-per-month promotion as its best overall streaming deal, so the cheapest deal and the best bundle were not the same thing.

What happened after the 12 months?
The $2.99 rate was guaranteed only for the promotional year. Unless canceled or changed, the subscription would move to the then-current applicable price after that period. The precise renewal price for every 2024 account is not established here, so it should not be confused with today’s pricing.
Anyone who claimed the offer should have checked the account’s renewal details and canceled before the renewal date if the regular price was unacceptable. Current Disney terms describe the general auto-renewal practice, but they do not retroactively set the 2024 renewal price.
