Re:

Does Susan Boyle Still Live in Her Childhood Home? What the Record Shows

Susan Boyle’s own interviews support her living in her Blackburn childhood home through 2019, but not necessarily in 2026. The $40 million figure is a third-party estimate, and “nine others” and “tiny” overstate the evidence.

Not definitively in 2026. Susan Boyle said in interviews published in 2015 and 2019 that she still lived in the Blackburn, West Lothian house where she grew up. Those dated comments support her residence there at the time, but they do not establish her current address. The same evidence does not show that the house was “tiny” or that she shared it with nine other people.

What Susan Boyle actually said about the house

In a first-person interview published by The Guardian on 6 February 2015, Boyle wrote: “I still live in the same house I grew up in, in Blackburn, West Lothian.” She said she had cared for her mother there until her mother’s death in 2007.

Boyle repeated the substance of that account in an interview with the Sunday Post published on 1 December 2019. She described it as her mother’s former council house and said she would not move because it was part of her history. That is the latest dated, reliable statement in the supplied record; it is not confirmation of where she lives in September 2026.

How the headline’s key claims measure up

Headline claim What the sources establish Verdict
“Despite having $40 million” Celebrity Net Worth displayed a $40 million estimate, accessed in 2026. No audited disclosure or primary financial record verifies that amount. Third-party estimate, not confirmed wealth
“Still lives in” the house Boyle said this in 2015 and again discussed remaining there in 2019. Supported through 2019; unconfirmed for 2026
“A tiny house” The Guardian and Sunday Post identify it as a council or ex-council home, but provide no floor area or room count. Subjective wording, not a measured fact
“Shared with 9 others” Boyle said she was the youngest of nine children: five sisters and four brothers. Incorrectly turns nine children into nine co-residents

She was one of nine children—not nine other household members

Boyle’s 2015 account and Guardian reporting describe her as the youngest of nine children. That means she had eight siblings. The sources do not say that all nine children lived in the Blackburn house at the same time, nor do they establish that nine other people shared the home with her. Household occupancy cannot be inferred from the family-size detail.

The larger house she bought after Britain’s Got Talent

Boyle said she bought a larger property after Britain’s Got Talent but never moved into it. In the 2015 Guardian interview she wrote: “I did buy a posh house after BGT, but I never moved in. My niece lives there now.” The 2013 Guardian profile and the 2019 Sunday Post interview likewise describe the newer property as the “posh house” occupied by her niece.

Her decision to retain the original home was personal rather than a statement about her finances. In a 2012 Guardian interview, Boyle said neighbours looked out for her, protected her and had known her all her life. A 2010 Guardian feature also placed her in the Blackburn home with her mother, providing earlier historical context.

Is Susan Boyle really worth $40 million?

The $40 million figure comes from Celebrity Net Worth, a secondary website that publishes estimates. It is not an audited figure supplied by Boyle, her representatives, a court or a regulator. Celebrity-net-worth calculations can change and may rely on assumptions about earnings, assets and taxes that are not publicly documented.

The safest description is therefore “a Celebrity Net Worth estimate of $40 million,” not “Susan Boyle has $40 million.” Her successful recording career and property purchases are consistent with substantial earnings, but the sources reviewed do not establish a verified net-worth total.

Boyle’s autobiography, The Woman I Was Born to Be: My Story, was identified as a 2010 publication. It may provide personal background, but its existence does not verify a current address or a net-worth figure. Availability and listings vary by region.
