Samsung did offer a $25 Xbox eGift Card through its Summer of Galaxy 2023 promotion. The reward was advertised for Thursday, July 13, 2023, while supplies lasted. As of August 18, 2026, Samsung presents the promotion as a past recap rather than a live claim, so a headline saying Samsung has a gift card for you is likely recycled coverage—not a current offer.
What the Samsung Xbox promotion was
Samsung’s Summer of Galaxy 2023 campaign included a $25 Xbox eGift Card for eligible Galaxy smartphone users. Samsung said the credit could be used toward Xbox Game Pass, games, apps or gaming accessories. The announcement is available in the Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s recap also lists the Xbox reward at Samsung.com.
This was a limited promotional reward, not an automatic benefit for every Samsung customer and not a free Xbox console or guaranteed subscription.
Who could claim it
The original offer was aimed at eligible Galaxy smartphones with Samsung Wallet in the U.S. Samsung directed users to Wallet on a qualifying device and referred readers to its Wallet FAQ for the device list. Eligibility also depended on availability, applicable Samsung and partner terms, and claiming the offer while supplies lasted.

- The promotion was U.S.-focused; the available pages do not establish worldwide eligibility.
- The complete original Xbox-specific terms—including any definitive age, account, residency or code-redemption deadline—are not stated on the currently available pages.
How redemption worked in 2023
Samsung’s announcement described this historical process:
- Open the Summer of Galaxy homepage on a mobile device or scan the promotion QR code.
- Open or register Samsung Wallet.
- Find the day’s partner offer in the Promotions area (Samsung’s recap also refers to the Wallet Perks tab).
- Select the Xbox offer and review the partner terms.
- Accept the terms and follow the instructions to claim the eGift Card.
Wallet’s menus have changed since July 2023, so current labels should not be treated as an unchanged map of the old promotion. Installing Samsung Wallet now does not reactivate an expired reward.

Was it really free, and what could the card buy?
Samsung presented the Xbox card as a promotional reward without describing an Xbox purchase requirement. It was still limited to qualifying Galaxy users and available inventory. The $25 value was Xbox account credit, not cash and not necessarily a full Game Pass subscription.
Microsoft’s terms allow redeemed value at participating Microsoft digital stores, including Microsoft Store online, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox 360, subject to exclusions and regional rules. The credit could help pay for:

Is the $25 Xbox card available now?
No. As of August 18, 2026, Samsung’s gaming page labels the material as a “Summer 2023 recap” and says “Summer of Galaxy will return.” That indicates the 2023 Xbox card is archived, not currently claimable. The original advertised date was July 13, 2023, and the reward was available only while supplies lasted.

Samsung Wallet remains an active service, but its availability today does not make the 2023 promotion active. Be especially cautious with pages that omit the year or say the reward is available “today.”

Do not assume an unredeemed 2023 code still works. Microsoft says promotional balances can have expiration rules set by the promotion, and gift-card currency is generally tied to the account’s registered jurisdiction. The available official pages do not establish the original Xbox code deadline.
- Go directly to Microsoft’s official code-redemption page.
- Sign in to the Microsoft account that should receive the balance.
- Enter the 25-character code and confirm the redemption.
Never publish the code, pay someone to unlock it, or use a third-party verification page. Microsoft’s redemption flow should not require a shipping fee or your payment-card details to activate a Samsung reward.
Do not confuse it with Samsung TV promotions
Samsung has run separate television promotions involving Xbox credit or Game Pass trials. Those campaigns can require buying and activating a qualifying TV and have different terms. They are not the no-purchase Summer of Galaxy mobile reward. Current Samsung promotions are listed at Samsung’s promotions page; a separate 2023 TV example appears at Your Choice 2023.

- Verify the announcement on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom or inside Samsung Wallet’s own Promotions or Perks area.
- Use only Microsoft’s official redemption domain for an actual code.
- Leave if a page requests a credit-card number, Samsung or Microsoft password, one-time security code, survey completion, unknown app download or shipping payment.
- Be wary of shortened, unrelated or misspelled URLs.
- Remember that not every Samsung phone automatically qualified, and a gift card is not the same as free Game Pass.
