Short answer: Google Play did run a genuine Disney+ promotion, but it was a limited, account-targeted offer reported on October 25, 2024—not a permanent benefit for every Play Points member. As of August 18, 2026, Google’s current Play Points documentation does not list Disney+ as a standard reward, so the only dependable way to know whether you can claim it is to check your own Google Play account.
The reported promotion offered eligible U.S. Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members several months of Disney+ Basic with Ads, subject to account, location, and subscription-history restrictions. A headline saying “claim now” may simply be recycling that older promotion.
What the original Google Play promotion included
Droid Life reported on October 25, 2024 that selected Google Play Points members could receive Disney+ Basic with Ads, and in some cases Hulu, for a limited period. Those terms were historical promotional terms, not a current Google guarantee.
| Play Points level | Reported Disney+ benefit |
|---|---|
| Gold | Six months of Disney+ Basic with Ads |
| Platinum | Nine months of Disney+ Basic with Ads |
| Diamond | Twelve months of Disney+ Basic with Ads |
The report also described comparable Hulu offers. It did not establish that every member at one of these levels received an offer; targeting and additional eligibility conditions applied.

Who could qualify?
Play Points level
The reported offer was associated with Gold, Platinum, and Diamond accounts. Google’s current U.S. page lists Gold at 600–2,999 points, Platinum at 3,000–9,999, and Diamond at 10,000 or more, but those thresholds do not prove that an account has a Disney+ promotion. Levels and benefits can change and differ by country. See Google’s U.S. Play Points levels and benefits.
New-subscriber condition
The contemporaneous report said recipients had to be first-time subscribers to the relevant service using the same eligible Play account. That generally distinguishes someone who has never subscribed from someone with a current subscription. The treatment of a canceled Disney+ subscription, a subscription billed by a mobile carrier, or a subscription under another email address depends on the individual offer terms; do not assume a former subscriber qualifies or is automatically excluded without reading them.

Country and account targeting
Google says Play Points availability, earning rates, and benefits vary by country. A U.S. offer should not be treated as worldwide. Google Play, Disney+, and billing details may also need to correspond to the eligible account. Managed school accounts and some parent-managed accounts may not qualify for Play Points enrollment.
How to check whether your account has a live offer
Use the Play Store itself rather than a social-media link. Google’s current help pages describe the following Android path, although labels and placement can vary by app version:

- Brand New in box. The product ships with all relevant accessories
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap Play Points.
- Open Perks or the available-offers area.
- Look for an offer that specifically names Disney+, the promotional duration, expiration date, eligible account, and redemption conditions.
- Read the terms before tapping Claim, Redeem, or Activate.
- Confirm that the redemption page is on an official Google or Disney domain.
- Save a screenshot showing the offer and its expiry date.
Google says third-party vouchers are saved in the Play Points Perks tab and that available promotions can be viewed within Play Points. Its instructions are available in Use points in the Google Play Store and Track your Google Play Points.
If Disney+ does not appear
No Disney+ tile means you should not treat your Play Points level as proof of entitlement. Common explanations include:

- The 2024 promotion ended or the account was never targeted.
- Your Play Points level is below the required level for that campaign.
- Your Play country is unsupported, or you recently changed countries.
- The account has already used a Disney+ promotion or subscription.
- The offer expired, or the Play Store is signed into a different Google account.
- The account is managed by a parent, school, or organization.
- The promotion was restricted to a particular billing or account cohort.
Google’s troubleshooting guidance says an eligible Play account, valid payment information, and a billing address matching the Play country may be required. Country changes can affect points and level carryover, and Play Points cannot be transferred between accounts. See Fix problems with Google Play Points and Google’s earning and account-restriction guidance. Support cannot necessarily restore an expired or non-targeted promotion.

The plan may include ads
The reported benefit was Disney+ Basic with Ads, not automatically an ad-free or premium plan. Downloads, higher simultaneous-stream limits, bundle upgrades, or other premium features may require payment.

A payment method may be required
Disney+ may ask for billing information even when the promotional period waives the subscription charge. Taxes and local billing rules can apply.
Renewal may become paid
Read the redemption screen for auto-renewal, the post-promotion price, and cancellation instructions. A free period may convert to a paid subscription if renewal is enabled. Do not rely on a general price remembered from an older article; Disney’s plans and promotions change.
Cancellation timing matters
Canceling immediately may or may not end access at once, depending on Disney’s terms. Follow the cancellation language shown for your specific redemption and retain the confirmation.
How to avoid fake “claim” pages
- Open Google Play manually and inspect the Perks tab instead of following a shortened social-media URL.
- Do not enter Google or Disney credentials on an unfamiliar domain.
- Never install an APK, browser extension, or remote-access app to unlock the promotion.
- Do not pay a verification fee or provide card details to a page that is not clearly operated by Google or Disney.
- Never share a one-time Google verification code.
- Check the domain character by character before signing in.
Why Play Points status alone is not enough
Google currently describes Play Points uses such as in-app or in-game items, Google Play credit, coupons, and partner vouchers. Its current benefits pages do not list Disney+ as a permanent tier benefit. Therefore, Play Points status may have been a condition of the 2024 campaign, but it is not evidence that your account currently has Disney+ access. A promotion is actionable only when it appears inside your official account with clear terms.

The “free Disney+” headline is based on a real October 2024 Google Play promotion, with reported six-, nine-, and 12-month Disney+ Basic with Ads periods for selected Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members. It is not verified as a universal offer in 2026. Check Google Play Store → profile picture → Play Points → Perks; if no clearly described Disney+ offer appears, do not submit your details elsewhere or assume that your points level guarantees a subscription.
