That was $800 below the former Amazon price of $2,997.99—about 26.7% off—not the 17% shown in one promotional card. The offer was tied to the early-spring/Big Spring Sale period, so it should be treated as a historical deal unless a live retailer page shows the same price.
What the “record-low” deal actually was
WePC updated its report on March 23, 2026, while WIRED later covered the same roughly $2,198 Amazon price during the Big Spring Sale. The figures were:
| Price detail | Reported amount |
|---|---|
| Former Amazon price | $2,997.99 |
| Deal price | $2,197.99 |
| Advertised reduction | $800 |
| Calculated discount | Approximately 26.7% |
| WIRED’s comparison | $300 below the price it had seen earlier that month |
| Price-history context | Yahoo Tech reported CamelCamelCamel showed the offer about $0.01 above its tracked low |
The “record-low” label has a narrower meaning than it may suggest. WIRED called it the lowest Amazon price its writer had seen, while the CamelCamelCamel comparison concerned that service’s tracked history. Neither proves the lowest price ever offered by every retailer or the lowest price after coupons, bundles, memberships or regional promotions. The $800 saving is also measured against the former Amazon price, not necessarily Samsung’s manufacturer MSRP. (WePC; WIRED; Yahoo Tech)
Samsung’s U.S. product page showed $3,299.99 when crawled, with pricing and promotions subject to change. That makes the March price an important benchmark, not a current price guarantee. (Samsung)

Which Samsung TV was involved?
The deal was for Samsung’s premium S95F, not the cheaper S90F or S85F. It is a 65-inch, 2025-model QD-OLED television. The official listing identifies a 4K OLED panel, NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, OLED HDR+, Samsung Vision AI features and motion support up to 144Hz. Deal coverage also highlights the glare-reduced screen treatment, OLED HDR Pro wording, Dolby Atmos processing and Alexa integration. Specification labels can differ between Samsung’s page and retailer cards, so check the exact listing before paying. (Samsung; WePC)
Why the S95F costs more than Samsung’s other OLEDs
Picture and room performance
OLED pixels control their own light, producing very deep blacks and strong contrast without the blooming commonly associated with illuminated LCD zones. The S95F’s QD-OLED positioning is aimed at premium color and brightness performance. Its glare-reduced treatment can be useful in a bright room, although reflections and bright highlights may look different from a conventional glossy OLED panel.

Gaming
The up-to-144Hz specification is most valuable to PC players with hardware capable of delivering high frame rates. A PlayStation 5 or Xbox console should not be assumed to use the full rate. Verify the exact input, resolution, variable-refresh-rate and HDMI specifications in Samsung’s detailed documentation for your region before buying.
Audio and smart features
Dolby Atmos processing and Alexa integration are convenience features, not a substitute for a dedicated sound system. The built-in speakers may be adequate for everyday viewing, but a soundbar or AV receiver is more suitable for substantial bass and surround immersion.

Important compromises before you buy
It is a previous-generation flagship
The S95F is a 2025 model. By August 2026, Samsung’s 2026 televisions were on sale, so a discounted S95F is a previous-generation flagship rather than the newest model. TechRadar reported discounts on Samsung’s 2026 lineup, including the S95H OLED. (TechRadar)
OLED care and image retention
Static logos, news tickers, desktop taskbars and long sessions displaying the same game interface can create image-retention or burn-in risk. That risk varies with usage and individual panels; it is not inevitable. Use Samsung’s pixel-refresh and panel-care features, vary static content, and read the warranty terms to determine what types of retention or burn-in are covered.

HDR-format and ownership checks
Samsung’s product materials should be your authority for supported HDR formats. If Dolby Vision is essential to your streaming library, verify support for this exact U.S. model before purchase rather than assuming every premium OLED includes it.
Delivery and returns
- Confirm that the listing is new, sold by the retailer you intend to use and for the 65-inch S95F—not a different size or marketplace condition.
- Check delivery, installation, tax, protection-plan and membership charges; the headline price may exclude some of them.
- Measure the wall, stand area, doors and elevators, and verify the official VESA and stand requirements.
- Inspect the panel promptly for shipping damage, dead pixels and unusual uniformity issues, then note the retailer’s return deadline.
Is the cheaper S90F the better value?
Samsung’s own page showed the 65-inch S90F at $1,199.99 against a displayed former price of $2,499.99 when crawled. It also lists the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, 4K AI Upscaling Pro, OLED HDR+ and 144Hz motion specification. That is a much lower-cost route to Samsung OLED and high-refresh-rate gaming. (Samsung S90F)

The 65-inch S85F is positioned below the S90F. Samsung lists the model, but a stable current price was not established, so check the live page before comparing it. (Samsung S85F)
| Model | Position | Price evidence | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| S95F (QN65S95FAFXZA) | Premium 2025 QD-OLED | $2,197.99 Amazon deal in late March 2026; Samsung page showed $3,299.99 when crawled | Buyers who value the flagship tier, glare reduction and premium picture performance |
| S90F | Lower-cost 2025 Samsung OLED | $1,199.99 shown on Samsung’s page when crawled, versus a displayed $2,499.99 former price | Value-focused OLED and high-refresh-rate gaming buyers |
| S85F | Entry-level Samsung OLED | Current price not stated reliably | Shoppers seeking Samsung OLED at the lowest tier |
When the S95F is a buy
- Around $2,200 or less: This is close to the reported historical-low range and is compelling for a premium 65-inch Samsung OLED.
- Well above $2,200: Compare the S90F, current-generation Samsung models and competing OLEDs before paying the premium.
- Near $3,300: The recommendation is difficult because that was the Samsung-listed price seen in the crawl, while newer models and cheaper Samsung tiers may offer better value.
Choose the S95F when its premium display and gaming presentation matter and the verified price is near the March benchmark. Choose the S90F when ordinary streaming and gaming value matter more than flagship positioning. Consider another brand if Dolby Vision or a different smart-TV platform is a deciding requirement. Samsung notes that pricing, availability, delivery information and promotions can change or be withdrawn. (Samsung terms and product listing)
