TechTimes’ August 20, 2024 profile identified Lorrayne Ribeiro as GEMINO AI’s founder and the leader associated with its industrial-AI platform, then spelled “OptivX.” That description needs a current-status qualification: German company-register aggregators report that Lorrayne Pereira Ribeiro left Gemino GmbH’s managing-director role on February 21, 2025, when Julien Felix Uhlig became managing director. GEMINO AI’s current materials describe the renamed OptiVX platform and its applications, but do not establish Ribeiro’s present operational role.
The defensible picture is therefore historical and evidence-led: Ribeiro appears to have been central to GEMINO AI’s early story, while the company now presents an ambitious sensor-fusion and autonomous-control architecture whose commercial scale and performance remain publicly unverified.
Who is Lorrayne Ribeiro?
The available public record is limited. TechTimes reported Ribeiro as GEMINO AI’s founder, linked her to applied technology work at Hochschule Zittau, and described a move from an AI-supported health application toward industrial AI. The article associated her with the development and promotion of OptivX.
Corporate records use the fuller name Lorrayne Pereira Ribeiro. CompanyHouse’s register summary lists her as managing director of the company from November 2023 until February 21, 2025. That record connects the full legal name to Gemino’s management history, while the TechTimes article connects “Lorrayne Ribeiro” to GEMINO AI. No reliable source reviewed here establishes her birth date, nationality, complete education or employment history, awards, or current title.

What is GEMINO AI?
In the 2024 profile, GEMINO AI was described as applying artificial intelligence to industrial processes, initially emphasizing automotive manufacturing and energy. The company’s current website presents Gemino AI as an applied research and development company working across industrial automation, optical perception, remote sensor management, energy systems, biological processes, and control of industrial systems.
Its current presentation has three broad surfaces:
- OptiVX: an autonomous-control platform.
- Optical perception: machine-vision and other sensing capabilities.
- Applied R&D: co-development and deployment work with industrial or research partners.
These descriptions are company statements. The public material reviewed does not establish customer revenue, market share, production-scale adoption, or independently audited performance.

What OptiVX is supposed to do
The 2024 article described “OptivX” as integrating digital and analog industrial data, learning from historical and real-time information, and supporting prediction and operational decisions. Current company material uses the spelling OptiVX and describes a closed-loop architecture that combines sensing, computation, models, constraints, and control.

The data layer
GEMINO AI says its systems can combine information from optical, acoustic, chemical, and other industrial sensors. Its current material also refers to multispectral imaging and ruggedized sensor hardware. In practice, such a system must deal with calibration, missing readings, time synchronization, sensor drift, changing process conditions, and cybersecurity. The public material does not specify the supported protocols, sampling rates, or data-quality guarantees.
Edge and cloud processing
The company describes a mix of local edge computing and cloud-based models. Edge processing can reduce latency and preserve operation when connectivity is limited. Cloud infrastructure can support heavier analytics, fleet management, and model updates. Actual latency, uptime, model size, network resilience, data residency, and maintenance arrangements are not published in the reviewed sources.
Constrained reinforcement learning
GEMINO AI presents OptiVX as using “Safe” or constrained reinforcement learning. Rather than allowing an optimizer to pursue a target without restrictions, a constrained system is intended to keep proposed actions inside defined operating boundaries. Possible controls include hard action limits, safety envelopes, simulation testing, operator approval, and fallback modes.

- Sensors observe the physical process.
- Software synchronizes and fuses the incoming signals.
- Models estimate the current state and possible future states.
- The controller proposes an action.
- Operating constraints remove or limit unsafe actions.
- The approved action is sent to the process or to an operator.
- New measurements update the next decision.
This is a conceptual model. The implementation, degree of automation, and human approval points can differ by project.

The hard part: safety, integration, and trust
Controls and accountability
Before allowing software to influence a physical process, a buyer should ask which limits are hard, which are advisory, who approves policies, whether operators can override recommendations, and what happens when the system loses connectivity or enters an unfamiliar state.
Legacy integration
Industrial sites commonly use PLCs, SCADA systems, proprietary protocols, segmented networks, and safety-instrumented systems. Connecting an AI layer can require controls engineering, commissioning, change management, and regulatory review. It is not a plug-in replacement for existing process-safety work.
Sensor and model failure
Important tests include disagreement between sensors, calibration loss, missing data, cyber incidents, process changes, rare events, and recovery after an outage. A credible deployment should document safe fallback behavior, monitoring, retraining responsibility, and operator training.
“Mathematically safe” and “certified”
GEMINO AI uses safety-oriented language and refers on its site to certification under Germany’s Research Allowance Act, with a BSFZ/DLR Projektträger verification. That is not the same as product-safety certification, industrial-control approval, or proof that every deployment is safe. The wording appears to concern research novelty, technical risk, and systematic research planning; stronger conclusions require the underlying decision documents.

What a prospective customer should ask
- Is the proposed engagement software, hardware, consulting, applied research, or a combination?
- Which sensors, PLCs, SCADA systems, and network environments are supported?
- What data remains on site, and who controls it?
- What are the hard operating limits and the human-override procedure?
- How are simulation results compared with real-world behavior?
- What happens during sensor failure, connectivity loss, model drift, or an emergency shutdown?
- Who pays for integration, maintenance, retraining, and future hardware replacement?
- Can the vendor provide a named reference, a pilot scope, acceptance criteria, and total-cost assumptions?
GEMINO AI’s site offers a request-a-demo or deployment conversation. No public software subscription, enterprise price, implementation fee, or standard plan was visible in the reviewed material. That points to a custom B2B engagement rather than a self-serve product.
Bottom line
GEMINO AI presents OptiVX as a technically ambitious platform for combining industrial sensing with constrained, feedback-based automation. The public record supports the existence and corporate evolution of Gemino and documents Ribeiro’s earlier association with the company.
