The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 G93SD is currently listed at Best Buy for $1,099.99, down from a stated comparable value of $1,699.99. That is a $600 reduction, although the price is not necessarily the lowest this monitor has reached: TechRadar previously reported a $999.99 promotion, and Tom’s Guide says it has seen the monitor at $899.
At roughly $1,000 to $1,100, this 49-inch 32:9 OLED monitor becomes a compelling buy for the right gamer or multitasker. It is not an automatic bargain, however. Its enormous footprint, demanding 5,120 × 1,440 resolution, OLED-care requirements and uneven 32:9 game support make it a poor use of money for many ordinary office users.

The price history matters. TechRadar reported a $999.99 Best Buy promotion on July 24, 2026, describing it as $700 off. The later observed Best Buy price was $1,099.99, so $999.99 should be treated as a previous deal price—not a guaranteed current offer.
Why the G93SD is attractive at this price
The G9’s appeal comes from the combination of features, not simply its size. Its 49-inch panel provides a continuous 32:9 workspace that is broadly comparable to placing two 27-inch 16:9 QHD monitors side by side, though it is not an exact replacement in pixel density, ergonomics or software behavior.
The 5,120 × 1,440 resolution gives you considerably more horizontal space than a conventional 3,440 × 1,440 ultrawide. That can make racing games, flight simulators, strategy titles, open-world games and productivity layouts more immersive. Developers, editors, traders and multitaskers can keep several windows visible without a center bezel interrupting the view.
OLED adds the visual advantages many buyers are seeking: very deep blacks, strong contrast and fast pixel response. The 240Hz refresh rate can also make motion look smoother than on a 60Hz or 144Hz display—provided the computer can produce high frame rates at this resolution. The 1800R curve is designed to keep the unusually wide screen within a more manageable viewing angle; without the curve, the outer edges would be harder to view comfortably.

In other words, the sale removes much of the flagship-premium cost from a display that can serve as both an immersive gaming screen and a one-panel replacement for a dual-monitor setup.

The biggest catch: your PC must drive it
Running games at 5,120 × 1,440 and 240Hz is demanding. The monitor will work at lower frame rates and refresh rates, but a computer that cannot render fast enough will not deliver the full benefit of a 240Hz panel.
Demanding games may require reduced graphics settings, an upscaling mode or a high-end graphics card. Older and mobile GPUs may also lack the necessary bandwidth, ports or driver support for the desired resolution and refresh combination. Before buying, check your graphics card or laptop manufacturer’s maximum supported resolution and refresh rate over the exact DisplayPort or HDMI connection you plan to use.
Do not assume that an existing cable will automatically support the mode you want. Verify the monitor’s connection requirements and use a cable rated for the intended resolution and refresh rate. A laptop that can technically display an image may still be unable to provide 240Hz at 5,120 × 1,440.

Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Measure the desk before ordering
A 49-inch monitor can overwhelm a normal desk. Best Buy lists the screen at approximately 47 inches wide and about 7.1 inches deep without the stand or 11.2 inches with it.
Use this checklist before paying:
- Measure usable desk width and depth, not just the desktop’s advertised dimensions.
- Leave enough space for your keyboard, mouse and speakers.
- Check clearance from walls, windows and shelves.
- Confirm that the screen will not interfere with a webcam or microphone.
- If using an arm, verify its weight rating, mounting compatibility and reach for a curved 49-inch display.
- Consider viewing distance: sitting too close to an extremely wide screen can become tiring.
- Review return shipping and damage procedures. Returning a large curved panel is more difficult and costly than returning a 27-inch monitor.
OLED is excellent—but not maintenance-free
OLED’s black levels and contrast are major strengths, but static content deserves serious consideration. Fixed taskbars, spreadsheet grids, browser controls and other desktop elements displayed for long periods can create image-retention or burn-in concerns over time. The risk depends on usage patterns and is not eliminated simply because the monitor includes panel-care features.

- HANDPICKED BY AMAZON: They did the research so you don’t have to.
- WRAP YOURSELF IN ADVENTURE: Experience the next level of gaming with vivid scenes wrapped around your field of view. The 49" 1000R curved screen with Dual QHD resolution enables full peripheral vision, putting you right into the character's shoes.
- LIGHTENING-FAST RESPONSE TIME: Conquer every enemy with extreme speed. A 240Hz refresh rate eliminates lag for ultra-smooth action. 1ms(GtG)* response time allows for blur-free frames and minimized ghosting, enabling you to game with precision.
- GROUNDBREAKING DISPLAY: See every detail in all its glory. From gloomy shadows to sun-scorched scenes, 1000 nit peak brightness and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio enhance color expression and depth. Gain an edge by spotting enemies in dark corners.
- IMMERSE YOURSELF WITHOUT DISRUPTION: Hyperfast action made seamless. Complex and fast-moving game scenes are projected smoothly and stutter-free with AMD FreeSyncTM Premium Pro to power your competitive edge.
If you buy it, enable and use the monitor’s available pixel-refresh, screen-saver and panel-care functions. Avoid leaving a static desktop displayed unnecessarily, and check the warranty for the exact G93SD model and seller. Do not assume that every retailer or warranty policy treats burn-in in the same way.
Someone who spends most of the day in static office applications may get better long-term value from an LCD ultrawide, even if its contrast is less impressive. For a buyer who mainly games, watches variable content and accepts OLED-care habits, the trade-off is easier to justify.
32:9 support is game-dependent
Not every game handles a 32:9 monitor perfectly. Depending on the title, you may encounter stretched menus, pillarboxing, black bars, poorly positioned HUD elements or cutscenes that do not fill the screen. Some competitive games restrict ultrawide field-of-view advantages or offer limited support.
That does not make the G9 unsuitable for gaming, but it does mean you should check the specific games you play most. You may need to adjust the field of view, use windowed mode or accept that certain titles will display in a narrower format. Streaming video and other 16:9 content may also leave unused space on the sides.
Which Odyssey OLED G9 is it?
“Odyssey OLED G9” is not a sufficiently precise product name. Samsung sells or has listed several 49-inch models with materially different specifications and availability:

Use the complete model number, not just “OLED G9,” when comparing listings. The G91SD is a particularly easy mistake: it looks similar but is a 144Hz model.
Who should buy the G93SD?
This deal makes the most sense for:
- Owners of a powerful gaming PC who can take advantage of high refresh rates at the monitor’s native resolution.
- Sim-racing and flight-simulation enthusiasts who benefit from peripheral vision.
- Strategy, MMO and open-world players who value a wide field of view.
- People replacing two monitors with one continuous screen.
- Editors, developers, traders and multitaskers who genuinely need extensive horizontal workspace.
- Buyers who specifically want OLED contrast and fast pixel response and are comfortable managing static-content exposure.
Who should skip it?
Save your money—or choose a different display—if:
- Your desk is narrower or shallower than the monitor requires.
- You mainly perform ordinary office work and do not need a 32:9 canvas.
- Your laptop or desktop cannot reliably support the desired resolution and refresh rate.
- You primarily play competitive games where a smaller 16:9 monitor makes it easier to reach very high frame rates or where ultrawide support is restricted.
- You leave static desktop applications visible for many hours and do not want to manage OLED-care features.
- You expect every game and video service to fill the entire screen without configuration.
Is $1,099.99 a good price?
Yes, but only for the monitor’s natural audience. At $1,099.99, the G93SD is substantially easier to justify than a $1,699 to $1,900 flagship price. It is still a premium purchase, and Best Buy’s $600 reduction is based on its stated comparable value—not proof that the monitor is at its lowest historical price.
Tom’s Guide says it has seen the Odyssey OLED G9 at $899, so do not interpret $1,099.99 as an all-time low. If the listing returns to $999.99 and the unit is new, returnable and sold by a reputable retailer, that is a particularly strong buy-level price for someone who already wants a 240Hz 49-inch OLED. At $1,099.99, it remains a strong deal, but the buyer should complete the compatibility and fit checks first.
Above roughly $1,300, the value case becomes less obvious. Compare newer OLED ultrawides, smaller 16:9 OLED gaming monitors, conventional 34-inch ultrawides and LCD alternatives before committing. At $1,699 to $1,900, the monitor is back in flagship territory, where waiting for another promotion may be wiser.
Five-minute buying checklist
- Confirm the SKU: The deal should say G93SD and LS49DG934SNXGO—not merely Odyssey OLED G9.
- Check the live price: Treat $1,099.99 as the currently observed price and $999.99 as a previously reported promotion.
- Confirm the seller: Review whether Best Buy or a third party is fulfilling the order.
- Read the return and warranty terms: Pay particular attention to large-item returns, shipping damage and OLED coverage.
- Measure the setup: Allow approximately 47 inches of width and enough depth for the stand, keyboard and mouse.
- Verify the PC connection: Check your GPU or laptop output, drivers and cable for 5,120 × 1,440 at the refresh rate you expect.
- Check your games: Confirm 32:9 support for the titles you play most.
- Plan for OLED care: Decide whether screen-saver, pixel-refresh and static-content precautions fit your routine.
Bottom line
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 G93SD at $1,099.99 is a legitimate, meaningful discount—not a universally sensible bargain. Buy it if you have the desk, GPU and use case to exploit a huge 240Hz OLED canvas. Skip it if you mainly need an everyday office monitor, cannot drive the native resolution, or would rather avoid OLED-care and ultrawide compatibility compromises. Check the live listing carefully: the exact model, seller, return policy and final price matter more than the generic “Odyssey G9” headline.
