If you wrote the Amazon product review, you can usually delete it by opening your Amazon public profile, finding it under Community activity, selecting the review’s three-dot menu, choosing Delete review, and confirming with Yes. This guide covers product reviews, not seller feedback.
How to delete your own Amazon review
- Sign in to the Amazon account you used to post the review.
- Open your Amazon public profile.
- Scroll to Community activity.
- Locate the review you want to remove.
- Select the three-dot menu in the review’s upper-right corner.
- Choose Delete review.
- Select Yes on the confirmation page.
Refresh your profile and the product page after a few minutes to confirm that the review is no longer displayed. Amazon staff guidance says the review should generally disappear from the site within several minutes, although different pages may not update simultaneously. See the guidance on the Amazon forum.
Should you edit the review instead?
Use the same profile path and three-dot menu, but choose Edit review instead of deleting it. Editing may be better if the review is still useful but contains an error, your experience has changed, or the original problem was resolved and you want to record that outcome.
Keep the revised review focused on the product and your genuine experience. Avoid adding private contact information, promotional language, or complaints primarily about shipping, returns, or customer service; those issues generally belong in seller feedback or an order-support channel.

How to delete an Amazon review in the app
Amazon’s app labels and navigation can vary by device, account, marketplace, and app version. In the app, open the account or profile area, look for your profile or Community activity, find the review, and check its three-dot menu for Edit or Delete.
If the control is missing, use a mobile browser instead. Sign in at amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile and follow the profile-based steps above. A mobile browser or desktop browser may expose controls that are not currently visible in the app.
What if you cannot find the review?
Try these checks in order:
- Verify the account: Reviews are linked to the Amazon account that posted them. Sign out and try any other account you use.
- Check the marketplace: A review posted on another Amazon country site may not appear in the U.S. profile view.
- Use your profile: The order page may not show the edit or delete control. Go directly to Community activity.
- Allow for processing: A new review may still be undergoing moderation or processing.
- Consider listing changes: Amazon may separate incorrectly combined product listings, which can affect where a review appears.
- Check whether it was already removed: Amazon may remove content for Community Guidelines or review-policy violations, or temporarily limit review display after unusual review activity.
Amazon’s seller guidance identifies reviewer deletion, policy violations, listing separation, and unusual review behavior among reasons reviews may disappear. These possibilities do not necessarily mean your account has a problem.
What if there is no Delete option?
Amazon changes its interface, so you may not see a permanently visible Delete button. Look for the review’s three-dot menu instead. If the option is still unavailable:

- Confirm that you are signed in to the posting account.
- Open the profile directly rather than starting from an order.
- Try a desktop browser and then a mobile browser.
- Sign out, sign back in, and refresh the page.
- Temporarily disable browser extensions that might interfere with page controls.
- Try the Amazon marketplace where you originally posted the review.
- Contact Amazon Customer Service if the review is visible but the control remains missing.
How long does deletion take?
An Amazon staff response says a deleted review should disappear within several minutes after confirmation. Treat that as a typical timeframe, not a guarantee that every product page, profile view, and search result will update at exactly the same moment.
If it remains visible, refresh the page, check your profile again, and view the product page while signed out or in a private browser window. Allow additional time for the change to propagate. Contact Amazon if the review remains after a reasonable delay.
Save a copy before deleting
If you may want to reuse the wording later, copy the review into a document or take a screenshot before deleting it. The available Amazon guidance explains how to delete and edit reviews but does not establish a current recovery process for a deleted review, so do not rely on being able to restore it.
Can a seller delete a customer’s negative review?
No. A seller cannot directly delete a customer’s compliant product review simply because it is negative or lowers the rating. Amazon may suppress a review that violates its policies, but the reviewer or Amazon—not the seller—controls that process. Amazon explains this distinction in its guidance on maintaining a trusted review experience.

Sellers also must not ask a buyer to remove or change a review, offer compensation for doing so, or otherwise attempt to influence the rating. Resolving a customer’s problem does not require the customer to alter the review. See Amazon’s customer-review guidance for sellers.
How a seller can report a review
Reporting is appropriate only when there is a specific policy concern—not merely because the review is unfavorable.
- Open the relevant product-detail page.
- Find the review.
- Select Report abuse, Report, or the equivalent control.
- Choose the applicable reason and follow the prompts.
- Explain the specific policy issue.
It can help to preserve the review URL, screenshots, order context, and a concise explanation if Amazon requests more information. Amazon’s guidance describes reporting noncompliant reviews from the product-detail page.

- Repetitive or spam-like content
- Phone numbers, email addresses, or other private information

- Comments focused primarily on price or availability
This is an examples list, not a complete statement of every review rule. A low star rating or an honest negative opinion is not, by itself, a policy violation.

Amazon uses “review” broadly in everyday conversation, but these are different types of posts:

If your post discusses delivery, returns, packaging, or customer service more than the product itself, it may be seller feedback rather than a product review. Seller-feedback removal may be time-limited, and Amazon-related materials contain conflicting deadlines. Do not assume a universal 60- or 90-day rule; use the current removal option beside the feedback or the feedback-removal page in the relevant seller account.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I delete a review without deleting my Amazon account?
Yes. Deleting a review removes that contribution; it does not require you to close your Amazon account.
Can I delete someone else’s review?
No. You can report another person’s review when you believe it violates Amazon’s rules, but you cannot delete it yourself.
Can Amazon remove a review?

Those concerns generally belong in seller feedback rather than a product review. The two systems use different workflows and policy rules.
Can I restore a deleted review?
Do not assume restoration is available. Amazon’s published guidance documents deletion and editing, but not a current recovery process, so save a copy first if the text matters.
