Best Buy Black Friday 2024 was a multi-week event, not a one-day sale. Black Friday savings began November 8, the main Black Friday Sale started November 21, and the actual Black Friday date was November 29, 2024. The prices below are historical 2024 prices—not current offers—and are most useful as benchmarks for judging similar products and discounts.

Best Buy also scheduled new doorbusters on Fridays from November 8 through December 20. That meant the product, price, and eligibility rules could vary depending on when a shopper bought.
Best Buy’s 2024 holiday calendar confirms the staggered schedule, store closure, pickup options, member access, and holiday return policy.
The best confirmed Best Buy Black Friday 2024 deals
These were among the strongest deals in Best Buy’s November 18 announcement. “Save” figures are Best Buy’s advertised comparisons, not independent proof that each price was the lowest ever.

Best Buy warned that prices and products could change, quantities were limited, doorbusters were restricted to one per customer, and there were no rainchecks. See the official Black Friday announcement for the original restrictions and deal details.
Best overall TV value: LG 48-inch B4 OLED — $599.99
The LG B4 was arguably the most compelling headline deal for shoppers who valued picture quality rather than maximum screen size. OLED provides individually lit pixels, so it can deliver very deep blacks and strong contrast. A 48-inch model also suited bedrooms, offices, smaller living rooms, and gaming setups where a 65- or 75-inch television would be excessive.
The trade-off was size. The Samsung 75-inch deal offered much more screen for less money, but it occupied a different quality tier. Buyers should compare the exact model, panel type, refresh rate, HDMI features, brightness, and HDR performance rather than judging only by screen size or discount percentage.
Best Apple deal: 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 — $749
The M2 MacBook Air at $749 was a strong historical price for a new Apple laptop aimed at everyday work, school, browsing, and travel. The important qualification is configuration: a MacBook price is incomplete without its RAM and storage. The advertised headline should be checked against the exact 13-inch M2 configuration, including whether it was the base model with 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage.

That base configuration could be perfectly adequate for ordinary productivity, but less suitable for demanding professional workloads or buyers who keep large media libraries locally. It also should not be compared directly with newer-generation MacBook models without accounting for the generational difference.

Best practical household deal: Dyson Digital Slim — $229.99
The Dyson Digital Slim stood out because the discount was large in dollar terms and applied to a product many households use frequently. Before treating the price as a complete comparison, shoppers needed to check the exact package and included attachments. Retailer-specific bundles can differ, and the advertised $270 saving did not establish a record-low price.
Best gaming deal for members: ASUS ROG Ally — $499.99, or $449.99 for eligible members
The public advertised price was $499.99. My Best Buy Plus and Total members received an additional $50 discount, bringing the eligible member price to $449.99. That lower price was not available to every shopper.
The ROG Ally was attractive for buyers who wanted a Windows-based handheld PC, but performance and battery life depended on the game, resolution, power mode, and expectations. It was not automatically a substitute for a console: PC setup, launchers, settings, and battery compromises remained part of the experience.

The price was compelling for a budget gaming laptop, but the product name alone was not enough to evaluate it. The exact processor, graphics hardware, RAM, SSD capacity, display resolution and refresh rate, battery, weight, and Windows edition all mattered.
Do not assume that every HP Victus configuration at this price had the same gaming capability. A model with integrated graphics would be a fundamentally different purchase from one with a dedicated GPU. The full configuration should be verified before comparing it with another laptop.

Best large-screen bargain: Samsung 75-inch DU6950 — $549.99
This was the strongest screen-size-per-dollar offer in the announced group. It made sense for viewers who wanted a very large television at a relatively low upfront price.
However, a large entry-level TV may have weaker brightness, HDR impact, processing, speakers, and gaming performance than a more expensive OLED, QLED, or Mini-LED model. It was a good value only if size was the priority.
Biggest advertised discount: LG 45-inch OLED gaming monitor — $999.99
The $700 advertised saving was the largest nominal discount among these headline deals. That did not make it the best bargain for most shoppers: the final price remained $999.99, and a 45-inch OLED gaming monitor was a premium specialist product.
It was potentially worthwhile for a buyer specifically seeking a large OLED gaming display. It was poor value for someone simply needing an affordable monitor.
What was the Best Buy Black Friday 2024 ad?
Best Buy promoted its holiday event through an official digital calendar and sale announcements rather than relying solely on one static newspaper-style circular containing every offer. The announcements identified the sale dates, weekly doorbuster schedule, sample prices, membership access, app-only Drops, store hours, pickup options, and restrictions.

That distinction matters when reading an archived “Best Buy Black Friday ad.” A third-party archive may show additional deals or pages from the broader digital sale, but individual listings should be checked against Best Buy’s contemporaneous announcement or reliable archived reporting before being called an official confirmed offer.

- November 28: Stores closed for Thanksgiving, although online shopping continued.

- December 1 and 2: The Cyber Monday Sale began December 1, with Cyber Monday on December 2.
So the answer to “Was Black Friday only November 29?” is no. November 29 was the calendar date, but Best Buy’s 2024 promotion ran in waves before and after it.

Membership early access
My Best Buy Plus and Total members could access new Friday doorbusters on Thursdays. Early access could improve the chance of finding inventory, but it was not a guarantee. It also was not the same as a permanent lower price.
Whether a paid membership was worthwhile depended on the shopper’s expected purchases, membership cost, other benefits, and whether the desired deal would still be available later. The $50 ROG Ally reduction was a concrete member benefit, but one deal alone should not be used to recommend membership to everyone.
Best Buy Drops
Best Buy scheduled app-exclusive Flash Deals through Best Buy Drops on Black Friday, including limited-run offers involving brands such as Apple, Dyson, Sony, and Ninja. The first Drop was scheduled for 8 a.m. Central Time.

These offers required the Best Buy app and had particularly high availability risk. A Flash Deal could sell out before checkout, so it was unsuitable as a guaranteed purchase plan. It should also be reported separately from ordinary BestBuy.com sale pricing.
Store hours, pickup, and inventory
Best Buy listed Black Friday store hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on November 29, 2024, but local hours could vary. Thanksgiving stores were closed. Store Pickup was available at all locations, while 24/7 pickup lockers were available at select stores.
Online availability did not guarantee local pickup. Inventory was location-specific, and doorbusters could sell out without rainchecks. A sensible checkout plan was to verify the selected store, pickup estimate, shipping availability, and exact product configuration before paying.
Price matching and returns: important historical limits
Price matching
Best Buy promoted a Holiday Price Match Guarantee in 2024, but shoppers should not have assumed that every competitor Black Friday price qualified. Best Buy’s price-match rules contain substantial exclusions, including competitor Black Friday pricing, special daily or hourly sales, many offers running from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after Thanksgiving, limited-quantity and out-of-stock items, clearance, open-box, refurbished, bundle, financing, gift-card, and membership-related offers.

The current Best Buy Price Match Guarantee is not automatically a complete historical record of the 2024 policy. For a 2024 purchase, the policy in effect at the time controlled. In either case, a Black Friday price match should be treated as uncertain until Best Buy confirms eligibility.
Holiday returns
For 2024, Best Buy said most gifts purchased between November 1 and December 31 had an extended return period through January 14, 2025, subject to exclusions. That deadline has passed and should not be presented as a current return benefit.
How to judge whether a Black Friday deal was actually good
- TVs: Compare panel type, native refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 support, brightness, HDR performance, exact model number, and whether the model was retailer-specific.
- Laptops: Verify the CPU, dedicated or integrated graphics, RAM, SSD, display resolution and refresh rate, battery, weight, and operating-system edition.
- MacBooks: Confirm chip, memory, storage, condition, and exact screen size. Base configurations can be limiting for demanding work.
- Vacuums: Check attachments, battery runtime, dust-bin capacity, and package contents.
- Gaming handhelds: Confirm the exact ROG Ally model and storage, then consider performance settings and realistic battery expectations.
A large advertised percentage saving is only one input. A smaller discount on a better product can be the stronger purchase, while a cheap product can be poor value if its configuration does not meet the buyer’s needs.
Historical verdict
For the announced 2024 deals, the LG 48-inch B4 OLED was the best overall value for picture-conscious TV and gaming buyers. The M2 MacBook Air at $749 was the standout Apple deal for general users, assuming the base configuration fit their workload. The Dyson Digital Slim was the strongest practical appliance discount. The HP Victus at $429.99 was the best budget gaming-laptop headline price, but only after verifying its hardware. The ROG Ally was most compelling for eligible Plus and Total members, while the LG OLED monitor was best viewed as a premium specialist deal—not a universal bargain.
