Hulu’s famous 90%-off Black Friday deal was real, but it is not available now. The promotion offered Hulu with ads for $0.99 per month for 12 months, compared with the then-standard $9.99 monthly price. It ended on December 2, 2024. The separate Disney+–Hulu Black Friday promotion from 2025 also expired.
What the 2024 Hulu Black Friday deal included
The offer covered standalone Hulu with ads at $0.99 per month for 12 months. It was not a discount on every Hulu plan, and it did not include Hulu + Live TV, an ad-free tier, or premium add-ons.
At the promotional rate, 12 months cost $11.88 before tax. The reported comparison price was $9.99 per month, or $119.88 for 12 months. That produced approximately $108 in gross savings before tax.
The calculation was:
($9.99 - $0.99) ÷ $9.99 × 100 = 90.09%
That is why the promotion was commonly described as 90% off. The percentage applied to the specific ad-supported plan and promotional period—not to all Hulu products.

TVLine’s contemporaneous coverage reported the $0.99 price, 12-month term, $9.99 comparison price, eligibility rules, and December 2, 2024 deadline.
When did the deal end?
The 2024 offer ended at the end of Monday, December 2, 2024. Deal pages can remain visible in search results after a promotion closes, so an old $0.99 headline should not be treated as a current signup price.

Who was eligible?
According to the reported terms, the promotion was available to:
- New Hulu subscribers; and
- Former subscribers who had canceled more than one month earlier.
Existing Hulu subscribers and subscribers paying through bundle plans were excluded under the reported 2024 eligibility rules. Third-party billing arrangements could also have different requirements.

What happened after the 12 promotional months?
The $0.99 rate was temporary. After the 12-month promotional period, the subscription automatically renewed at the regular price unless the subscriber canceled. The applicable renewal price could change, so readers should not assume that the 2024 standard rate still applies.
For any similar future offer:
- Read the renewal price before completing checkout.
- Set a calendar reminder several weeks before the promotional year ends.
- Cancel before the next billing cycle if you no longer want Hulu.
- Confirm the cancellation in account management and keep the confirmation email.
What could you watch?
The 2024 coverage highlighted Hulu Originals and library programming such as The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, and The Handmaid’s Tale}, along with ABC programming, current-season episodes, movies, and children’s content.

Streaming catalogs change. Hulu currently describes its on-demand service as offering Hulu Originals, current-season episodes, full seasons of selected series, movies, children’s programming, and other content. Check the official Hulu page for the current catalog and plan details rather than relying on an old title list.
What the $0.99 offer did not include
- Ad-free viewing: Commercial interruptions were part of the discounted plan.
- Live television: Hulu + Live TV is a separate product with live channels, sports, news, local programming, and cloud DVR features.
- Premium add-ons: Add-ons were not automatically included in the base subscription.
- Permanent access at $0.99: The price lasted for 12 months and then renewed at the applicable regular rate.
- Every title forever: Hulu’s catalog changes as licensing and programming arrangements change.
Hulu’s current plan page distinguishes its on-demand service from Hulu + Live TV. Live TV availability, channels, local coverage, blackouts, and regional restrictions can vary.

Do not confuse it with the 2025 Hulu deal
The 2025 Black Friday promotion was different. Disney offered Disney+ and Hulu with ads for $4.99 per month for 12 months from November 25 through December 1, 2025. It was a bundle, not standalone Hulu, and it did not include ESPN.
The official Disney description said the bundle would renew at $12.99 per month or the then-current regular rate after the promotional term. That offer also expired on December 1, 2025.
Select Hulu content could be available through Disney+, while additional Hulu content required Hulu access. This distinction matters when comparing the bundle with a standalone Hulu subscription.
Is there a current 90%-off Hulu deal?
No current 90%-off Black Friday offer was verified as of August 18, 2026. The 2024 $0.99 promotion and 2025 $4.99 bundle promotion have both ended.
The current Hulu page displays ordinary subscription and bundle options rather than the expired $0.99 promotion. Page signals observed on August 18, 2026 included Disney+/Hulu bundles at $19.99 per month with ads or $29.99 without ads, and Hulu + Live TV at $89.99 per month after a three-day trial if offered. These prices and availability can vary by user, location, billing channel, and future updates, so verify the final checkout price and terms.
