NVIDIA’s headquarters is not one futuristic building but a multi-building campus in Santa Clara, California. Its most distinctive spaces are the West Campus buildings Endeavor and Voyager: angular, spaceship-like offices designed around collaboration, shared amenities and large open work areas.
The “$2 trillion company” description belongs to the original coverage period, after NVIDIA crossed that market-capitalization milestone in 2024. By August 18, 2026, NVIDIA’s market capitalization was approximately $5.49 trillion, so the older phrase should be read as historical context rather than a current valuation.
Where is NVIDIA’s headquarters?
NVIDIA’s corporate headquarters is at 2788 San Tomas Expressway, Santa Clara, California 95051. The campus sits within Silicon Valley’s dense concentration of technology companies and is organized into East and West Campus areas.
The East Campus contains older buildings and research-and-development functions. The newer West Campus is centered on two prominent buildings: Endeavor and Voyager. NVIDIA’s official visitor map identifies the campus connections, San Tomas Expressway, Scott Boulevard, Walsh Avenue, visitor parking and staffed visitor lobbies.

Endeavor and Voyager: the centerpiece of the West Campus
Endeavor and Voyager are the architectural centerpieces of NVIDIA’s newer headquarters complex. Their names reference Star Trek, matching NVIDIA’s long-standing space-themed corporate identity.
| Building | Approximate size | Completion | Reported capacity or estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Endeavor | 500,000 square feet | 2017 | Part of the roughly 5,000-person West Campus estimate |
| Voyager | 750,000 square feet | 2022 | More than 3,000 employees, according to NVIDIA |
A securities filing describes the two properties as totaling approximately 1.3 million square feet. The estimate of roughly 5,000 employees across the pair comes from a Wall Street Journal account and should not be treated as NVIDIA’s current headcount or occupancy figure.
Endeavor is described as more inwardly focused, while Voyager opens more broadly across the site. Both buildings connect to outdoor circulation routes and a campus park, turning movement between work areas into part of the workplace experience.
What does NVIDIA HQ look like from outside?
From outside, the buildings look unlike a conventional Silicon Valley office park. Their large triangular and faceted forms create an angular profile often compared with a spaceship. Extensive glazing, landscaped areas and pedestrian routes soften the geometry while keeping the buildings visually connected to the campus.
Gensler, the principal architecture and design source identified for the project, describes the headquarters as a recognizable campus made from triangular buildings. NVIDIA’s official headquarters media gallery includes exterior, aerial, park, walkway and selected interior images.

The architecture serves two purposes at once. It gives NVIDIA a memorable physical identity, and it creates large, flexible floor plates intended to support teams that work across hardware, software and artificial intelligence. The striking exterior is therefore not the whole story: the practical question is how the unusual geometry supports daily work.
Inside Voyager’s “mountain”
Voyager’s interior is organized around a central feature called the “mountain.” Communal areas, conference rooms and workspaces are arranged around it, with “valleys” on either side. The result is less like a corridor leading to isolated offices and more like a workplace organized around a shared interior landscape.

It is a design concept—not an official department or a single room representing the entire headquarters.
Published images show a plant wall near the entry, a mezzanine and open interior circulation. Large open-plan work areas extend beneath a faceted roof. According to the project explanation reported in the Wall Street Journal transcript, the roof geometry was intended to help redirect reflected sound through the workspace. That is a design claim from project representatives, not an independently published acoustic measurement.
NVIDIA’s workplace-design team says Voyager supports more than 3,000 employees. The company also says the building’s design was adapted to changing workplace needs, including flexible work. The available material does not establish current attendance levels, desk-allocation policies or whether every team works on-site full time.
Why use such a large open office?
Project leaders reportedly selected open-plan workspaces for approximately 5,000 employees across Endeavor and Voyager to encourage connection and collaboration. The logic is straightforward: fewer physical barriers can make teams more visible to one another, support informal encounters and allow space to be reconfigured as the company changes.

But open planning is a trade-off, not a guaranteed productivity solution.
- Potential benefits: easier cross-team interaction, greater visibility, adaptable seating and a stronger sense of shared purpose.
- Potential costs: noise, distraction, reduced privacy, competition for meeting rooms and difficulty concentrating on complex work.
The Wall Street Journal transcript acknowledges that a very large open room can be noisy. The acoustic roof strategy may address part of that challenge, but it does not prove that every employee experiences the space as quiet or effective. Nor does the public material provide independent evidence that the offices improved productivity, collaboration or employee satisfaction.
NVIDIA’s workplace team also emphasizes that offices receive location-specific adaptations. Voyager should not be treated as a template for every NVIDIA office around the world.
Did NVIDIA’s own GPUs design the headquarters?
NVIDIA’s technology was used during aspects of the headquarters design process. The Wall Street Journal account describes custom software powered by NVIDIA chips helping project teams design, visualize or optimize elements of the office.

The available sources identify architects, workplace strategists, engineers and NVIDIA leadership as central participants. A more accurate description is technology-assisted architectural and workplace design.
This distinction is important because the headquarters is part of NVIDIA’s corporate story: the company’s computing technology helped shape the process used to create a physical environment for its own employees. It does not establish that NVIDIA’s generative AI systems designed the entire campus without human direction.

Who designed NVIDIA’s campus?
Gensler is the principal architecture and design source identified in the available project material. Its brief describes a headquarters intended to express innovation, sustainability, inclusivity, collaboration and employee well-being.
Gensler lists the project at approximately 1,250,000 square feet, with a 250,000-square-foot floor plan, LEED Gold certification, a 390-kilowatt solar-panel array, reclaimed water for irrigation and outdoor workplace capacity for 1,300 occupants.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThose figures should be read within the scope of Gensler’s listed project, rather than automatically applied to NVIDIA’s broader approximately 3-million-square-foot headquarters footprint. They also describe design features and project certifications; they do not by themselves prove the campus’s total environmental performance or employee experience.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the campus “heart” designed to do?
The heart is the campus’s social and circulation strategy. Instead of treating reception, food, coffee, meeting rooms and informal encounters as leftover spaces, the design places high-traffic activities where employees naturally pass through them.
This arrangement can make chance encounters more likely and reduce the sense that teams work in separate compartments. It also reflects a broader workplace-design idea: collaboration depends not only on formal conference rooms but on the spaces between scheduled meetings.
Still, a central gathering area cannot eliminate the need for quiet rooms, private calls, focused work and team-specific spaces. Its value depends on how employees actually use the building, something the published promotional and project material does not measure.

Can the public visit NVIDIA headquarters?
NVIDIA does not appear to operate a normal walk-in museum or publicly advertised headquarters tour. The official visitor map shows staffed lobbies, visitor parking and check-in arrangements, indicating controlled access for authorized visitors.
In practice, ordinary visitors should expect to need a host or an approved business purpose. The published map does not provide a general public tour schedule, and the available material does not document a complete public floor plan or employee-area access policy.
Official photographs and video therefore offer a curated look at selected exterior and interior spaces, not a comprehensive inspection of the campus. Readers should not treat the presence of visitor parking or a lobby as permission to enter restricted areas.
What NVIDIA’s headquarters says—and does not prove
The campus makes NVIDIA’s otherwise abstract business tangible. Chips, software and AI infrastructure are invisible products, but Endeavor and Voyager communicate scale, engineering confidence, permanence and an expectation of interaction across disciplines.
The design also exposes a tension common to technology workplaces. A highly branded, open and computationally assisted campus may encourage connection, yet employees still need privacy, concentration and predictable access to suitable workspaces. The “mountain,” the heart and the faceted roof express an answer to those problems, but they are not proof that the problems have been solved.
The most accurate reading is therefore neither “NVIDIA built a futuristic office” nor “AI designed NVIDIA’s headquarters.” NVIDIA created a large, distinctive corporate campus in which architecture, workplace planning and its own computing technology are closely linked. Whether that environment works equally well for every employee remains a question that the public images and project descriptions cannot answer.
