What changed in the Bitdeer–Soluna agreement?
In a September 24, 2026 announcement, Soluna said the amended agreement adds approximately 7 MW of Bitdeer mining equipment to the companies’ arrangement at Project Kati 1. The expansion is notable in timing as well as size: Soluna CEO John Belizaire said, “We entered our first co-mining agreement with Bitdeer in August, and we are expanding it before that deployment is even finished.” That is Belizaire’s characterization of the deal, not independent validation of its commercial performance. The August agreement was the baseline, not a completed installation: Soluna said the expansion came before that deployment was finished. Where is Project Kati 1?
Soluna describes Project Kati 1 as an 83 MW wind-powered data center in Willacy County, Texas. The Bitdeer equipment is planned for the site’s K1BC phase, which Soluna said was fully subscribed in its September 24 announcement. These are company-reported descriptions; the 83 MW figure is the site’s stated capacity, not the size of Bitdeer’s deployment. Soluna’s September 24 announcement

The September amendment keeps this structure. Soluna’s announcement does not state the proceeds split, electricity price, contract duration, or other detailed economic terms, so the deal’s expected profitability for either company cannot be calculated from the disclosed information. The release establishes the announced scope and forecast, not the outcome. It gives no confirmation that the additional capacity reached operation, and it reports no realized mining output or revenue. Its approximately 2.42 EH/s figure is the hash rate associated with the planned total deployment, not evidence of measured production.
