The UPSC recruitment drive reported as offering 120 posts, including Assistant Director, Scientist-B and Specialist Grade III roles, is closed. The matching 2024 report gave February 29, 2024 as the application deadline. Anyone looking for a current opening should use UPSC’s official recruitment pages instead; the old deadline is not an active application window.
What the 2024 UPSC recruitment notice covered
A Scroll.in report matching this recruitment title described 120 vacancies across Assistant Director (AD), Scientist-B, Specialist Grade III and other posts. It reported February 29, 2024 as the last date to apply. The original notice for this specific drive has not been verified here, so the reported total and deadline should be treated as details from that article, not as independently confirmed terms of an official notification.
The notice is historical: its reported application deadline passed in 2024. It is not possible to submit an application for that drive now.
Eligibility and post-wise details need the exact notice
Job titles alone are not enough to determine whether a candidate qualified. Requirements can vary by post, and the available information does not establish this drive’s post-by-post vacancy counts, education or experience requirements, age limits, category relaxations, fees or selection stages. Do not assume that a requirement for one role applies to another.
#1 Best Overall
UPSC Advertisement No. 02/2024 is a separate recruitment notice, not a substitute for the notice behind the reported 120-post drive. Its application period was January 27 to February 15, 2024, and its PDF includes posts such as Scientist B (Earth Sciences). Those dates differ from the February 29 deadline reported for the title covered here. Using that advertisement to fill gaps would risk giving candidates the wrong eligibility or application information. Read UPSC Advertisement No. 02/2024.

For new recruitment posts, start with UPSC’s Apply Online page, which lists the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) route separately from examination applications. Use the live recruitment notice and its linked application form for any current opening, and confirm the deadline and requirements in that specific notice before applying.
Rank #2
The UPSC Online Portal describes ORA as a service for recruitment applications, but its page says it is only for previewing forms filled or submitted on or before March 25, 2025. It directs new examination registrations to the current application portal. Because portal routes and services can change, follow the links and directions shown on UPSC’s current official pages rather than relying on an old application link.
