The short answer is that no one can currently give a reliable overall verdict on the review accuracy of Trusted Reviews. The evidence that can be checked establishes what the publication is and how the UK competition regulator once described it. It does not establish whether its reviews are accurate today. Treat any single Trusted Reviews article as one input to a decision, and judge that article on its own visible evidence.
Also note that Trusted Reviews is not Trustpilot. Trusted Reviews is a technology product-review publication at Trustedreviews.com. Trustpilot is a separate platform where consumers review businesses. Ratings, complaints, or reputation on Trustpilot say nothing about the reviews published by Trusted Reviews, and the reverse is also true.
What is established about Trusted Reviews
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) identified Trustedreviews.com as a website hosting technology product reviews in its 2020 decision. That decision is the clearest independent record of what the site is: a product-review publication operating in the UK technology market.
The same CMA investigation described Trusted Reviews as competing closely with TechRadar.com and T3.com. That is useful context about the market at the time. It tells you who the publication was competing with for readers and advertisers. It does not tell you whether its testing is rigorous, whether its scores are fair, or whether its verdicts hold up.
#1 Best Overall
Because the decision is from 2020, it should not be used to describe the publication as it operates now. Ownership, staff, editorial rules, and funding can all change over several years.
What is not established
Several questions that matter for reliability cannot be answered from the evidence available here:
Rank #2
- Brand New in box. The product ships with all relevant accessories
- Current ownership and control. A 2020 regulatory mention does not establish who owns or runs the site today.
- Present editorial policy. No current, accessible policy page was verified that sets out how reviews are tested, scored, corrected, or updated.
- Funding and disclosures. Whether the site earns affiliate commission, sponsorship, or manufacturer payments, and how clearly it labels them, is not established by the evidence reviewed.
- Overall accuracy. No independent assessment of how often Trusted Reviews’ verdicts match real-world performance was found. No reliable statistic on its accuracy exists in the sources reviewed.
The publication’s own statements about its standards are not a substitute for these checks. Claims that a site is trustworthy, independent, or unbiased should be tested against the article in front of you, not accepted on reputation.
How to judge a specific Trusted Reviews article
Reliability is easier to judge at the level of one article than of a whole publication. Use the six criteria below. A review that scores well on most of them gives you more to work with than one that does not. None of them proves accuracy on its own.

| Criterion | What to look for | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Testing method | A description of what was tested, how long it was used, and under what conditions | Scores or verdicts with no description of testing, or impressions presented as measurements |
| Concrete measurements | Stated numbers such as battery runtime, brightness, or noise levels, with the method used to get them | Vague claims like “excellent performance” with no figures or comparison points |
| Model and recency | The exact model, version, or firmware tested, and a visible publication or update date | A review of an older model presented as current, or no date at all |
| Limitations and contrary evidence | Named weaknesses, cases where the product did not perform as claimed, and context for who the product does not suit | Only praise, with no drawbacks named |
| Sourcing and corrections | Links or references for factual claims, and a visible note when an article was corrected or updated | Factual claims with no source and no record of changes |
| Commercial disclosure | A clear label for affiliate links, sponsored content, or free review units | Buy links or sponsorship without a plain label near the top of the page |
To apply the criteria to a particular review, work through these steps:
- Open the article and note the publication date and any “updated” date. If the tested model is not named, treat the verdict as unverified for your purchase.
- Find the testing section. If you cannot tell how the product was used or measured, the score is an opinion, not a result.
- Check the drawbacks. A review that names no weaknesses has not shown you the full picture.
- Look for affiliate or sponsorship labels. If a buy link appears and no disclosure is visible, record that as a gap.
- Compare the main claims with at least two other sources that tested the same model, including manufacturer specifications and independent measurement sites where available.
- Check whether the claims you care about, such as battery life or repairability, match across sources. Disagreement is a reason to look further, not a reason to pick the more favourable review.
Using a review in a money decision
Reviews are most useful as a way to narrow choices, not to make the final call. For a purchase that involves real money, especially one funded by credit, the cost of a wrong verdict is the price difference plus the years of use you will live with. A review that is recent, tests the exact model, names its drawbacks, and discloses any commercial relationship is a reasonable starting point. A review that fails several of those checks should carry little weight, whatever the publication’s name.
Rank #4
Where a Trusted Reviews article passes the checks, that is a fact about that article. It does not establish that every review on the site meets the same standard, and it does not establish how the publication will perform on the next product it covers.
