The headline says the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) Assistant Engineer registration closes today and that 1,014 posts are open. The official material available for this article does not confirm either claim. Do not apply on the strength of this headline. Check the closing date, the post count and the application link in the current RPSC advertisement first.
What the headline claims and what can be checked
The headline makes three separate claims. Each needs its own check, because a page can be right about one and wrong about another.
| Claim in the headline | Status from the official material | What would confirm it |
|---|---|---|
| Registration closes today | Not confirmed. The closing date attached to this claim is 8 October 2026. Today is 9 October 2026, so that date has already passed. | A current RPSC advertisement that states an online application last date matching the day you are reading it. |
| 1,014 posts are open | Not confirmed. No current recruitment advertisement stating this count was found in the official material reviewed. | The vacancy distribution table in the full advertisement, including any corrigendum that changes it. |
| Apply now at rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in | The commission’s website is rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in. The Assistant Engineer pages surfaced there refer to the Assistant Engineer Combined Competitive Examination 2024, its results and related notices. They do not establish that an application window is open today. | An online application link inside a current official advertisement, opened from the commission’s own site. |
The date is the most useful test. If an advertisement gives a closing date, compare it with today’s date before anything else. A closing date that has already passed means you cannot register under that notice, whatever a headline says.
What the 2024 Assistant Engineer scheme establishes
RPSC’s published scheme for the Assistant Engineer Combined Competitive Examination 2024 describes a two-stage process: a preliminary examination followed by a main examination. This is the only exam structure in the official material reviewed. It describes the 2024 cycle, so it shows how that exam was built, not the terms of any later advertisement. Eligibility, fee, vacancy numbers and dates can change from one cycle to the next.

Preliminary stage: a screening test
The preliminary stage has two papers of 200 marks each, each lasting two hours. The scheme describes it as a screening test, and its marks do not count toward final merit. Your choice of engineering discipline is made at this stage, so check which optional papers the current advertisement offers before you prepare.
Main stage: language, social aspects and one discipline
The main examination includes compulsory Hindi and Social Aspects of Engineering papers, plus two papers in the one optional discipline you selected. The mark distribution and paper durations for the main stage are not stated in the 2024 scheme material reviewed, so do not assume them for a later cycle.

How to confirm the real deadline before applying
- Type rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in into your browser yourself. Do not use a link from a message, a social media post or a third-party site.
- Find the section on the homepage that lists current recruitment advertisements, and locate the Assistant Engineer notice. Note its advertisement number and year.
- Open the full advertisement document, not a summary. Find the online application last date. Check whether the notice also gives a separate last date for fee payment.
- Find the vacancy table and read the total number of posts, along with how they are split across disciplines and categories.
- Check for any corrigendum or amendment notice. An amendment can change the dates, the post count or the eligibility.
- Confirm the eligibility criteria and the fee in the same advertisement.
- Apply only through the online application link given in that official advertisement, and keep a copy of the confirmation you receive.
Warning signs that an urgency claim is not from RPSC
- It gives no advertisement number or year.
- It says “deadline today” but links to no official advertisement.
- It gives a post count with no vacancy table behind it.
- It asks you to pay a fee to a personal account or to a website you did not reach from the commission’s own site.
- It quotes a year or cycle that does not match the advertisement you find on the commission’s site.
If no current application window is open
If the commission’s site shows no current Assistant Engineer advertisement with an open online application, you cannot register under this headline’s claim. Watch the commission’s recruitment listings for a new advertisement, and apply only once one is published with its own dates and link.
