The two order flows use different platforms and delivery networks, and membership fee benefits apply only to eligible orders.
How the Skip and Instacart partnership works
The integration has two directions, but it does not make the apps interchangeable: Skip is the entry point for Instacart-powered grocery and retail orders; Instacart is the entry point for restaurant orders from Skip partners. The companies say the service began October 6, 2026, in Canada. Read the joint announcement.

What the companies say is available
In its October 6 announcement, Skip and Instacart said the grocery and retail connection gives Skip customers access to more than 130 retail banners and over 9,000 locations in Canada. They also said more than 50,000 national and local restaurant partners would be available to Instacart customers. These are company-reported figures from the announcement, not independently verified counts or a guarantee that a specific retailer or restaurant serves your address.
The release also gives broader company-wide figures that describe different networks: Skip said it had more than 50,000 local restaurant, grocery, convenience, and retail partners across over 450 Canadian cities and towns; Instacart said it worked with more than 2,200 retail banners and nearly 100,000 stores. Those totals are not counts of locations included in the new Skip connection.

Membership delivery-fee benefits and other charges
The announcement says Skip+ members receive $0 delivery fees on eligible Instacart-powered grocery and retail orders. Instacart+ members receive $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible restaurant orders placed through Skip in Instacart. The benefits are conditional, not a promise that an order will have no fees: service fees, taxes, tips, order minimums, and exclusions may still apply, according to the companies.
The launch discount was time-limited
Skip described a launch offer of 40% off an eligible Instacart-powered Skip order of $35 or more, up to $15 off, available from launch while supplies lasted. The qualifying minimum was calculated before taxes, tips, and service fees and the order had to be placed through Skip’s “Groceries Powered by Instacart” tab. Alcohol and other age-restricted items did not count toward the minimum and were ineligible. The offer was non-transferable, had no cash value, and could be changed or cancelled without notice. Because the announcement is dated October 6, 2026, it does not establish that the offer is still active; check the app for current availability and terms.
