NCC Ltd has received a road construction order worth ₹1,286.03 crore, excluding GST, from Hyderabad Growth Corridor Ltd (HGCL). Upstox reported the award on October 8, 2026, in the same report that said NCC’s shares were down 26% year-to-date at that point. The order and the share decline are reported as separate facts, and the reporting does not link them. This article sets out the order terms first, then the share-price figures with their dates, then what remains unknown.

Three details change how the headline figure should be read:
- The value is pre-tax. The ₹1,286.03 crore figure excludes GST, so the GST-inclusive amount will be higher. The reporting does not state the GST rate applied, so the total cannot be calculated from this source.
- The scope is one package. The order covers Package-1 (Budwel to Shabad) of Radial Road-2. It is not a general infrastructure award, and the reporting does not say whether further packages are linked to it.
- The period is a construction timeline. The 18-month figure is the construction period reported for this package. It is not a revenue recognition schedule.

The year-to-date figure and the one-day figure measure different things. The 26% fall spans the whole year to date, while the 5.48% fall is the change on the single trading day reported. Both appear in the same report, but neither is a measure of how the order affected the price.
Why the order and the share fall should not be linked
A contract award and a share decline can occur on the same day without one causing the other. The reporting describes the order and the price move but does not give a reason for the decline. A reader searching for why NCC shares are falling will not find a cause established in this coverage.

Several points make a causal reading unsafe:
- The reporting does not state a market reaction to the order or any analyst view on it.
- The 26% decline began before the reported award date, and the reporting does not identify when the year-to-date decline started accumulating.
- The reporting does not compare the ₹1,286.03 crore order with NCC’s total order book, revenue, or market value, so its weight relative to the company cannot be judged from this source.
Recent quarterly results
Upstox also reported NCC’s results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, which the company labels Q1 FY27. These figures are attributed to that report:
- Consolidated net profit: ₹216.4 crore, up 12.6% year over year.
- Revenue from operations: ₹5,812 crore, up 12.2% year over year.
NCC’s official Quarterly Results index lists unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The index page itself does not reproduce these figures, so treat them as reported by Upstox until checked against the company’s results document.
