Deus X Capital, a crypto-focused investment firm, says it will close by January 31, 2027. Its official statement says its assets and portfolio companies will be returned to investors, who are moving their activity into two narrower vehicles: Darius Cubed Ventures, which is focused on AI, and 95, which is focused on markets and fintech. The company says its portfolio businesses will continue without disruption. That is the company’s own forward-looking assurance, and the available reporting does not independently confirm the operating status of each business.
What Deus X Capital announced
In its official statement, the firm said it would wind down its operations, returning assets and portfolio companies to the investors who backed it. CEO Tim Grant put the timeline plainly: “After a tremendous run, Deus X Capital will be closing down by 31st January 2027.”
CoinDesk’s 2026 reporting describes the same end date from a different angle. It says the firm has already ceased operations and will formally unwind on January 31, 2027. Read together, the two accounts point to a firm that has stopped its active business and is completing a formal wind-down, with the closing date as the endpoint. Neither account describes the legal structure of the wind-down or how each asset will be handed over.

Where the firm’s capital and companies are going
Investors are not simply taking their money out. According to the company, they are moving their activity into two successor vehicles, each with a different focus and set of leaders.

What happens to the portfolio companies
The company says its portfolio businesses will continue without disruption and that investors will support their continued growth. Treat that as the company’s assurance, not an independent finding. The sources do not establish the current operating and regulatory position of each business.
Grant’s own role gives one concrete example of how the executive team is being redistributed. Besides leading TensorX, he is chairman of TradeLocker, a Deus X portfolio company.

How to read the firm’s figures
$1 billion at launch
CoinDesk reports that Deus X debuted in October 2023 with $1 billion in existing investments and capital available for deployment. This is a figure from the firm’s launch, relayed by CoinDesk in 2026. It is not a current asset value, and the firm has not published one in the reviewed reporting.
36.5% annualized returns since inception
The firm said it has generated annualized returns of 36.5% since inception, as reported by CoinDesk in 2026. This is a company-reported figure. Neither CoinDesk’s reporting nor the company statement describes an independent audit or verification of it, and a past annualized return of this kind does not indicate what any investor will receive from the successor vehicles.
Total capital
Deus X declined to disclose its total capital. Readers should not infer a total from the $1 billion debut figure.

If you invested through Deus X Capital
The public statements describe the firm’s direction, not the paperwork that governs your holding. Use them as a starting point and check your own documents.
- Find your subscription or fund agreement and locate the clauses on dissolution, distributions, and transfers.
- Ask the firm in writing whether your interest will be returned in cash, transferred in kind, or moved into Darius Cubed Ventures or 95, and whether that move requires you to sign anything new.
- Keep every notice, statement, and capital account report from the firm, since they will be needed for your records.
- Ask a tax professional how a distribution or transfer in the final year will be reported.
- Do not assume that a successor vehicle has the same terms, risk profile, or performance history as Deus X Capital.
If you only know of Deus X Capital through news coverage, the statements above describe what the firm has said publicly. They do not tell you whether you have a claim on any asset.
