Samsung Wallet is set to add USDC transfers for eligible US Galaxy users, with a launch planned for the last week of October 2026. As of Samsung’s October 7, 2026 announcement and the partner statements published October 7 and 8, the feature is announced but not yet live. Samsung names Solana and Sui as network partners, but it has not said whether you will be able to choose a network yourself.
Who can use the feature
Samsung says the stablecoin functionality is limited to eligible US residents who meet all of the following conditions:
- Are 18 or older and hold a Samsung Account.
- Use a Galaxy device compatible with Samsung Wallet that runs Android 13 or higher.
- Complete account registration and identity verification.
- Set up biometric authentication.
The feature is tied to eligible devices you already own. Samsung does not present it as a reason to buy a new phone or name a specific model. Samsung’s figure of 82 million is the number of US Galaxy devices compatible with Samsung Wallet. It is not a count of users, registered accounts, or active wallets.
When it launches
Samsung Electronics America announced the feature on October 7, 2026, with launch planned for the last week of October 2026. Samsung has not published an exact launch date. Until the feature appears in your app, treat it as coming soon rather than available. If you are checking for it, make sure Samsung Wallet is updated and that your device meets the Android 13 requirement.

The two ways to send USDC
Samsung describes two different kinds of transfer. They work differently in fees, timing, and what the recipient needs, so it helps to separate them before you send anything.
| Feature | Transfer to a crypto wallet or exchange account | Transfer to a bank account |
|---|---|---|
| Destination | Compatible third-party crypto wallets or exchange accounts, including international recipients | Eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries, where the recipient may receive local currency |
| Samsung fee | Samsung says it charges no fee for external-wallet transfers | Bank remittance fees vary by destination and amount; the app is to show them before you confirm |
| Recipient fees | The recipient wallet provider or exchange may charge its own fees | Not stated by Samsung beyond fees shown in the app |
| Speed | Depends on blockchain network conditions; no specific time is promised | Estimated delivery time is to be shown in the app before confirmation; no commitment is given in the announcement |
| Recipient requirements | Recipient must use a compatible wallet or account on a supported network | Recipient bank and country must be eligible; the full country list is to appear in the app |
Samsung’s accompanying note says the external-wallet transfers are free of Samsung’s own fee. The announcement’s headline phrasing that transfers happen “in seconds and with no transfer fees” should be read alongside that note: recipient providers may charge, and speed depends on network conditions.

Which networks are involved
Samsung names Solana and Sui among its partners for infrastructure and blockchain network support. The Solana Foundation’s October 7, 2026 announcement states that stablecoins on Solana will be supported in Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay is mentioned only in the Solana Foundation’s wording, so it is not confirmed in Samsung’s own announcement.
Neither announcement explains whether you can pick a network when you send. They also do not explain how a transfer is routed between Solana and Sui, or which network applies to a given recipient. Until Samsung publishes its app flow, do not assume a Solana transfer will reach every recipient, or that you can choose the network for each payment.

Who holds the money and who runs the service
Samsung says the cross-border payment framework is powered by Bastion. Coinbase is Bastion’s official sub-custodian, and it safeguards Samsung Wallet USDC through Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung says the stablecoin accounts, custody, and money movement are provided by regulated partners. Samsung states that it is not a bank, a money transmitter, or a digital-asset custodian, and that it does not hold customer funds. Use of the service is subject to partner terms, which you should read before enabling it.
Coinbase separately says it will power USDC as the default dollar stablecoin in this arrangement, in its October 8, 2026 announcement, “Coinbase and Samsung Bring USDC to Samsung Wallet.”

What is still unknown
- The exact launch day within the last week of October 2026.
- The full list of supported bank-transfer countries, which Samsung says will appear in the app.
- A complete fee schedule for bank transfers.
- Any delivery-time commitment for bank transfers or blockchain transfers.
- Whether users can select Solana or Sui, and how transfers are routed between them.
Samsung’s statements in the October 7, 2026 announcement are the primary source for the points above. Anything beyond them should be checked against Samsung’s own app screens and terms once the feature is live.

- Check that your Samsung Account is active and that you can complete identity verification.
- Set up biometric authentication for Samsung Wallet.
- Before sending, read the fee and delivery-time screen in the app. Confirm the recipient’s wallet provider or bank and its fees.
- If you plan to send to an exchange, confirm the exchange accepts USDC on the network the transfer uses.
