Walmart+ is Walmart’s paid membership. It bundles delivery and shipping perks, a fuel discount, a choice of one streaming service, and several smaller benefits. Walmart’s Walmart+ membership page advertised a $1 trial for 30 days as of October 8, 2026, but the trial is not free. It renews automatically into a paid plan, which is listed at $98 per year or $12.95 per month, plus applicable tax, unless the offer you are shown says otherwise. Eligible government assistance recipients and college students see a discounted plan. Offers and eligibility change, so read the terms shown during your own signup before you enroll.
What Walmart+ costs
Walmart lists one trial and four paid prices. The table shows the figures as displayed on Walmart’s membership page and help pages on October 8, 2026.

At list prices, twelve monthly payments of $12.95 come to $155.40 a year, so the annual plan is $57.40 cheaper than paying monthly for the same twelve months. Annual billing only saves money if you would keep the membership for the full year. If you would cancel after a few months, the monthly plan can cost less in practice.
How the $1 trial works
Renewal into a paid plan
Walmart’s terms say trial memberships renew automatically into a full-price monthly or annual plan unless the offer states otherwise. The plan you see at signup is the plan you will be billed for after the trial, so check whether the monthly or annual option is selected before you confirm.

One trial per customer
Walmart allows one trial per eligible customer. If you have already used a trial on your account, a new $1 offer should not appear, and you should not expect to receive one by opening a second account.
What cancelling during the trial can do
Walmart’s terms say that canceling during a trial may lead Walmart to end the membership and its trial benefits immediately. Cancelling a trial therefore does not simply turn off the next charge. You lose access to the benefits at once. Before you enroll, confirm the following:
- Which plan is selected at signup, and whether it is monthly or annual.
- The date the trial ends and the amount of the first full-price charge, plus tax.
- Whether you plan to use the membership during the trial, since cancelling early ends access immediately.
- Where your Walmart account manages billing, so you can change or cancel the membership before the renewal date.

What the membership includes
Each benefit has its own conditions. The list below uses Walmart’s descriptions as of October 8, 2026, so treat each item as a current offer, not a guarantee of how it will work for your address or household.

Qualifying groceries and other store items can be delivered free on orders over $35, subject to restrictions and location coverage. Walmart’s page says delivery can be as fast as the same day. Same-day availability depends on your location, so do not assume it is available everywhere.
Shipping
Eligible Walmart.com items qualify for free next-day or two-day shipping with no order minimum. Most Marketplace items are excluded, and freight or location surcharges may still apply. If you shop mainly from third-party sellers on Walmart.com, this benefit may cover less than you expect.

Streaming
Members choose one ad-supported streaming service for each 90-day period: Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential. Registration with the streaming provider is required in addition to your Walmart+ membership. Walmart’s estimate of the streaming value has changed between versions of its membership page, so this article does not quote a dollar figure for it.
Fuel
Walmart advertises 10 cents per gallon off at participating Walmart, CITGO, Exxon, Mobil, and Murphy stations. The membership page notes that the discount varies by location, at 5 to 10 cents per gallon in Alabama. Member fuel prices at Sam’s Club are also listed. Check whether your local station participates before counting this benefit toward the membership’s value.

Other listed benefits
- Pharmacy delivery, Scan & Go, and home returns pickup.
- In-store benefits, which vary by location.
- Pawp online pet care, limited to Pawp’s standard membership.
- Burger King savings.
- Walmart+ Travel.
- A separate OnePay CashRewards card offer. The card requires its own registration and approval, so it is not automatically part of the membership.
Who can join and where it is available
Walmart describes the membership as available to customers with a U.S. billing address and in certain territories at Walmart’s discretion. Membership benefits are limited in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Walmart’s help page also says you need a Walmart.com account and the Walmart app to access membership features. If you live in one of the limited areas, check which benefits apply to your address before paying for the membership.

Deals for Days and early access
“Deals for Days” is Walmart’s name for its Black Friday sale events. The sales have been described in different formats in different years, so the details below come from the 2022 announcement and should not be read as this year’s schedule.
What the 2022 announcement described
Walmart’s corporate release dated October 19, 2022 described “Black Friday Deals for Days” as a month-long series of separate November events, with paid Walmart+ members getting an earlier online shopping window. In that release, Chris Cracchiolo, Walmart+ senior vice president and general manager, said: “We’re always looking for ways to make shopping convenient and fun for Walmart+ members, and early access gives them extra time to save more money with a lot less stress.” That quote explains Walmart’s rationale in 2022. It is not a promise about any particular sale.
What the membership page says now
As of October 8, 2026, Walmart’s membership page advertises early access to online deals, including Black Friday. It does not state the dates or format of a current “Deals for Days” event. Check Walmart’s current event page for dates and for which membership status qualifies for early access before you sign up for the membership to get it.

Walmart’s savings estimate
Walmart says annual members with at least 12 months of membership save an average of $382 per year. This figure comes from Walmart’s current membership page, accessed October 8, 2026. Walmart’s footnote says the estimate excludes the $98 annual fee and compares member savings with non-member prices or fees. It is Walmart’s own estimate, not an independent study, and it is not a guarantee of what you will save. It applies to annual members with at least a year of membership, not to new or monthly members.
Is Walmart+ worth it for your household?
Walmart+ pays off when you use the benefits you would otherwise pay for or go without. Work through these questions before you decide:
- Billing choice: Would you keep the membership for a full year? If so, the annual plan is the cheaper paid option at list prices.
- Eligibility: Do you qualify for the discounted government assistance or college student plan? If so, the cost question changes significantly.
- Delivery habits: How often do you order qualifying store items large enough to meet the delivery minimum?
- Fuel: Do you buy fuel at one of the participating stations near your home or commute?
- Streaming: Would you use the one streaming service you can choose each 90 days?
- Early access: Are you planning to shop a specific event, and do you know its current dates and membership requirements?
A general break-even figure is not useful because the value depends on order size, location, fuel use, and which benefits you actually use. If most of your answers point to delivery, fuel, or streaming, you can estimate the value using your own receipts and card statements. If the membership only appeals because of a possible sale window, the cost is hard to justify unless you know the event details.
