How to Buy an XRP ETF in a Brokerage Account

Search for an XRP ETF by its exact ticker, confirm your broker supports it, and check whether the fund holds XRP, uses futures or targets daily leverage before placing an order.

You can buy an XRP ETF by searching for its exact fund name or ticker in a brokerage account that supports the listing, then reviewing the fund details and order preview before placing an order. One example in a September 28, 2026 prospectus is the Bitwise XRP ETF (ticker XRP), listed on NYSE Arca. That does not mean every broker or account offers it.

How to find and buy an XRP ETF

  1. Check your account. Confirm it can trade exchange-listed securities and is funded as you intend. Account eligibility, permissions and funding requirements depend on your broker.
  2. Search by exact ticker and name. Search for XRP or “Bitwise XRP ETF” in your brokerage platform. The Bitwise prospectus identifies XRP as its NYSE Arca ticker and says investors place buy and sell orders through brokers. Read the Bitwise prospectus.
  3. Verify what the fund holds. Read the current prospectus rather than relying on a search result or the words “XRP ETF.” Products using that label can hold XRP, use futures or pursue leveraged daily returns.
  4. Review costs and trading details. Check the fund’s current expenses, your broker’s charges, the bid–ask spread, trading hours and any displayed premium or discount to net asset value (NAV). The Bitwise prospectus says shares may trade above or below NAV and brokerage charges may apply.
  5. Read the risks and inspect the order preview. Confirm the security name and ticker, order type, quantity and estimated transaction details shown by your broker. Screens and order options differ by platform.
  6. If it does not appear, ask your broker. Ask whether it supports that ticker in your particular account and whether the account needs any permissions. A listing does not guarantee access through every broker.

Check the fund’s exposure before choosing a ticker

Funds described as XRP ETFs are not necessarily interchangeable. Their underlying exposure and objectives can change how closely performance tracks XRP, particularly over time.

Example Exposure and objective Important consideration
Bitwise XRP ETF (XRP) The September 28, 2026 prospectus describes a trust holding XRP to provide exposure to the value of its holdings, less expenses and liabilities. Shares are listed on NYSE Arca. Prospectus. Shares can trade at a premium or discount to NAV; brokerage charges may apply. The prospectus lists a 0.34% annual sponsor fee, charged against trust XRP holdings and reducing NAV. Check for later supplements.
XRPI The June 26, 2026 summary prospectus describes a fund that gets exposure primarily through XRP futures and collateral, not by directly investing in XRP. Summary prospectus. Futures rolling and contango can cause the fund to underperform spot XRP. Its stated expense example is $171 for one year and $530 for three years on an assumed $10,000 investment; this is an illustration based on stated assumptions, not a forecast, and excludes broker commissions.
ProShares Ultra XRP ETF (UXRP) The September 28, 2026 summary prospectus says UXRP seeks two times the daily performance of the Bloomberg XRP Index and does not invest directly in XRP. Summary prospectus. The objective is for a single day; returns over longer periods can differ significantly from twice the index return. The prospectus states total annual operating expenses of 2.43%, including management fees and other expenses such as interest expense and futures commission merchant fees.

What to compare before placing an order

  • Underlying exposure: Determine whether the fund holds XRP, uses futures or relies on other derivatives.
  • Objective and holding period: Look for daily leverage or reset terms. A daily target is not a promise of the same multiple over a longer holding period.
  • Fund and transaction costs: Review the current expense disclosures, any financing or other expenses, broker charges and the bid–ask spread. Product-specific figures above should not be treated as costs for all XRP funds.
  • Price versus NAV: For a trust holding assets, compare the market price with displayed NAV information where available; a share can trade above or below NAV.
  • Structure and risks: Read the current prospectus for custody, legal structure, and the risks relevant to that product.

An ETF share is not the same as holding XRP

Buying a share gives you an interest in the exchange-traded fund or trust under its governing terms; it does not put XRP tokens in your personal wallet. The exposure depends on the product: the Bitwise example described above holds XRP, while XRPI uses futures and UXRP targets leveraged daily index performance. Their structures, risks and results can differ.

The Bitwise prospectus dated September 28, 2026 calls its shares speculative and states: “The Shares are speculative securities. Their purchase involves a high degree of risk and you could lose your entire investment.” This is prospectus language, not an SEC endorsement.
