Why Transfermarkt shows a different Burnley value elsewhere
Transfermarkt’s Burnley club overview shows a current squad value of €197.70 million, rather than €238.85 million. Its historical comparison lists €222.85 million at the 1 July 2026 cutoff before showing €197.70 million as a later current value. The pages therefore show different snapshots, not one figure that can be treated as timeless. The same club overview lists the Championship’s total market value at €2.25 billion.

For a league ranking, use the participants overview and name it; for the figure on Burnley’s club page, use €197.70 million and identify that page’s current snapshot. Do not combine those amounts or present one as a correction to the other without a common date and table.
What “squad market value” does—and does not—mean
These are Transfermarkt estimates. They are not club-published audited valuations, confirmed transfer fees, wage costs, enterprise value, or a promise of what Burnley could receive by selling its players. A transfer fee is negotiated in an individual transaction and may differ from an estimated squad value.

The available figures do not establish a complete valuation formula. Treat the totals as a publisher’s comparison estimate, not a measure of cash available to the club. For a fair comparison, use the same season table, snapshot, valuation publisher and total-squad measure rather than mixing figures from different dates or per-player averages.
