If Dell identifies FedEx as the carrier, open the FedEx tracking link or enter the tracking number on FedEx Tracking. A shipment marked “shipped” may not have a carrier link yet; Dell says that link appears after the carrier provides the tracking information.
Find your Dell order and its tracking details
For a US order, sign in to your Dell account and go to Orders → Track Order. Dell’s order details can show the ship date, carrier tracking number or link, and separate information for each package. Have the Dell Purchase ID or order number from your confirmation email available.
If you checked out as a guest, use Dell’s Order Support page and enter the Purchase ID or order number. The account route gives you the order list and available order actions; guest lookup is an alternative when you do not use My Account.
Open FedEx tracking when Dell identifies FedEx
- Open the order’s Track Order details in My Account, or retrieve the order through guest Order Support.
- Find the carrier and the tracking number or carrier link for the package.
- If the carrier is FedEx, follow Dell’s link or enter the number on FedEx Tracking to see carrier-side shipment updates.
Dell chooses the carrier it considers appropriate for a shipment, so not every Dell order will ship with FedEx. Use the carrier shown in the order record rather than assuming FedEx is handling the package.

Why a shipped order may not show tracking yet
Dell says a tracking link becomes available once the carrier provides the information. If the order has just changed to shipped and no number or link appears, check the Dell order details again later. “Shipped” can also mean that only part of an order has shipped, so the order may not yet have tracking details for every item.
Dell’s US FAQ warns that carriers sometimes reuse tracking numbers. If the number shows an older delivery date, Dell advises waiting 24 hours for the waybill information to update. This is specific guidance for that reused-number situation, not a general delivery-time estimate.

Check every package in a split order
Dell orders can be divided into multiple order numbers or packages, each with its own tracking information. Review every package listed in the order details before treating an item as missing. If one package has shipped and another has not, their status and tracking availability may differ.

- Need carrier-side movement or delivery information: use the carrier link or tracking number. Dell says proof of delivery is provided directly by the carrier.
- Need help with Dell’s order record: choose Get Help on the order in My Account.
- Tracking information is not posted yet: return to the Dell order details later; the carrier must provide the information before Dell can show its link.
Order lookup and shipping guidance here are for Dell’s US support pages. Lookup options and timing guidance can differ by country; consult the regional Dell order-support page for an order placed elsewhere. The available order record and carrier tracking are needed to determine a specific package’s current status or delivery estimate.
