The original ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X launched in 2025 at U.S. estimated retail prices of $599.99 and $999.99. The newer ROG Xbox Ally X20 is a separate 2026 model: ASUS announced a $1,299 U.S. standalone price, with preorders opening August 25 and shelves expected October 15, 2026. Its $2,499 bundle includes accessories, so it is not the handheld-only price.
Xbox Ally prices and preorder dates
“Coming today” referred to the original preorder announcement on September 25, 2025. It is no longer current. ASUS announced U.S. preorders for the newer X20 on August 25, 2026. The figures below are U.S. announcement prices; local pricing, taxes, availability and current inventory can differ.
| Model | U.S. announced standalone price | Announced preorder or launch timing | Display and processor details |
|---|---|---|---|
| ROG Xbox Ally (2025) | $599.99 estimated retail price | Preorders announced September 25, 2025; global launch October 16, 2025 | Not stated in the cited Xbox Wire announcement |
| ROG Xbox Ally X (2025) | $999.99 estimated retail price | Preorders announced September 25, 2025; global launch October 16, 2025 | Not stated in the cited Xbox Wire announcement |
| ROG Xbox Ally X20 (2026) | $1,299 | U.S. preorders opened August 25, 2026; ASUS says it will be on shelves October 15, 2026 | 7.4-inch OLED display and AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor |
The original model prices, preorder announcement and launch date are from Xbox Wire’s September 25, 2025 announcement. X20 timing, price and specifications come from ASUS ROG’s August 25, 2026 announcement. The X20 is a newer premium device, not a price change for the 2025 Ally X.
What the $2,499 X20 bundle includes
ASUS also announced a $2,499 U.S. bundle. It includes the ROG Xbox Ally X20, ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 gaming glasses, a dbrand Killswitch case, a 68-watt adapter and a custom Pelican case. The bundle price should not be confused with the $1,299 handheld-only announcement price.
