Leerdam won gold in the women’s 1,000 meters with a time of 1:12.31, an Olympic record, according to NBC Olympics. The International Skating Union reported that she finished 0.28 seconds ahead of fellow Dutch skater Femke Kok.
Post-race coverage reported that Leerdam unzipped her racing suit and showed a Nike sports bra. The Sporting News and oe24 covered the moment and the commercial-value estimate attached to it. Neither identifies the bra’s exact model, so the available reporting supports calling it a Nike sports bra—not naming a specific product.
Was Leerdam paid $1 million for showing the bra?
No confirmed payment of $1 million has been established. The figure comes from Frederique de Laat, founder of Branthlete, who estimated that the Nike exposure could be worth more than US$1 million. oe24 quoted her saying, “Bei Nike erwarte ich eine Summe von über einer Million”—“With Nike, I expect a sum of over one million.” The Sporting News also relayed her estimate, attributing it to a report by Dutch outlet AD.

That is a projection of possible commercial value, not proof that Nike paid Leerdam, that she earned that amount, or that a new endorsement deal followed the moment. The reporting reviewed does not establish a realized payday or a Nike agreement tied to the celebration.
