That date has passed, and the announcement does not confirm whether the offer or planned activities took place.
What was announced
The promotion was for the Willetton McDonald’s in Western Australia, not a chain-wide McDonald’s offer. PerthNow reported on September 9, 2024, that cheeseburgers were scheduled to cost $2 each during a two-hour window on the anniversary celebration day. The article described the price as more than half off but did not give a regular price, so a precise discount percentage cannot be established.

What the announcement says about the store
The Willetton restaurant was marking 30 years since opening. PerthNow identified Janiene and David Pollock as the store’s licensees and reported they had held that role for 12 years at the time of publication. Janiene Pollock said: “We are proud to celebrate 30 years of serving up our great tasting food and providing feel good moments for our customers.”
The article also attributed remarks to the licensees about local employment and community support, naming Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club, Willetton Netball Club and Ronald McDonald House Charities. It did not provide donation amounts or detailed partnership terms, so those remarks should be understood as the licensees’ account rather than measured impact data.
