Bad Bunny’s personal pay for the Super Bowl LX halftime show, held in February 2026, has not been publicly disclosed. Halftime performers are generally reported to earn union-scale compensation, and the NFL typically covers the show’s expenses. Neither fact tells you what the headliner himself was paid. A claim that he received a specific total, or that he performed for free, goes beyond what the available reporting establishes.
What is confirmed and what is not
- The NFL’s official announcement names Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl LX halftime performer and describes Apple Music as a multiyear partner. The announcement does not state any payment terms.
- CBS News, in a report by Megan Cerullo updated February 8, 2026, said halftime artists generally earn union scale and that the NFL typically covers artists’ expenses. The same report did not disclose Bad Bunny’s contract, his payment, the days he was covered, or a final total. It cited an approximate daily union-scale figure as general reporting, not as a Bad Bunny paycheck.
- The Associated Press covered Bad Bunny’s pre-show remarks but did not report anything about his compensation.
Three different kinds of money
Most confusion about halftime pay comes from treating three separate flows as one. A headliner’s personal fee, minimum compensation owed to covered performers under union terms, and production costs are different things, paid for different work and, in some cases, to different people.

| Type of money | Who receives it | What it pays for | What is publicly established for 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Headliner performance fee | Bad Bunny, under his individual contract | His own performance | Not stated in the NFL announcement or in CBS News reporting. Not disclosed publicly. |
| Union-scale compensation | Covered performers under applicable union terms | Minimum pay for covered work | CBS News reports that halftime artists generally earn union scale. Its approximate daily figure is general, not Bad Bunny’s individual total. |
| Production and travel expenses | Production costs, typically covered by the NFL | Staging, production, and related costs | CBS News reports the NFL typically covers artists’ expenses and that these can be substantial. No 2026 total is stated in the public sources. |
Expense funding is not a personal paycheck. An artist whose production costs are covered has not thereby received a fee, and a union-scale minimum is not the same as a negotiated headliner salary.
What the union rules say about dancers
The 2025 SAG-AFTRA Network Television Code
SAG-AFTRA’s 2025 Network Television Code summary says Super Bowl halftime dancers are paid in the same manner as dancers on awards programs longer than 60 minutes. The change produces a substantial increase in minimum compensation for those dancers. This is the most current union rule covering halftime work in the public record, but it applies to dancers. It does not set or reveal the headliner’s fee.

The 2022 precedent
In a January 25, 2022 statement, SAG-AFTRA said professional dancers should not rehearse or work on the halftime show without compensation. The union also said Roc Nation had contracted 115 paid SAG-AFTRA professional dancers for that year’s show. Those details describe the 2022 production. They do not establish the dancer count or the pay structure for the 2026 show.
What Bad Bunny has said
The NFL’s announcement reproduces Bad Bunny’s statement: “this is for my people, my culture, and our history.” It is a statement of purpose. It says nothing about compensation, and it should not be read as a claim either way about his fee.

What would change the answer
A specific figure would require a named source with direct knowledge of Bad Bunny’s contract, such as an official statement from the NFL, his representatives, or a credible report that describes the agreement’s terms. Until one of those exists, the accurate answer is that his personal pay is unknown. Estimates of union scale describe the category of work, and they cannot be converted into a total for him.
When you see a payment claim online, check three things: whether it names a source and a date, whether it refers to a general union-scale estimate or to Bad Bunny’s own contract, and whether it treats an NFL-covered expense as a performer’s wage.
