Restructuring efforts did not produce a reorganization
Spirit Aviation Holdings and affiliates filed for Chapter 11 protection on August 29, 2025, in the Southern District of New York. On March 13, 2026, Spirit entered a restructuring support agreement with certain lenders and noteholders and proposed a reorganization plan. The court authorized liquidation
On May 5, 2026, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane authorized a rapid wind-down and liquidation of the remaining business activities. Is Spirit’s bankruptcy case finished?
