The comparison also needs an updated name: Polygon’s PoS network now uses POL, the successor to MATIC. In a CoinGecko snapshot retrieved on October 8, 2026, POL’s market cap was about $1.028 billion. RETIK’s market cap is harder to establish because major trackers report conflicting or incomplete circulating-supply data. That makes a precise, dependable RETIK price target for matching POL’s cap unavailable from these figures.
What “replace Polygon’s market cap” means
Market capitalization is a snapshot calculation: token price multiplied by circulating supply. It is not the amount of money invested in a token, nor does reaching the same market cap mean two projects have equal adoption, utility, or prospects.
For RETIK to match a specified POL market cap, its price and circulating supply would have to multiply to that target. The implied price is the target market cap divided by the assumed circulating supply. If you instead multiply price by the total or maximum supply, the result is fully diluted valuation (FDV), not current circulating market cap. CoinGecko explains the distinction on its POL page and RETIK page.
Because RETIK’s circulating supply is not consistently reported, the available snapshots do not support an authoritative break-even price or a reliable current RETIK-to-POL cap multiple.

The figures below come from different trackers and dates or observations, so they are context, not a synchronized head-to-head comparison.

The two RETIK tracker views do not establish a dependable circulating supply: one displays a self-reported figure but also labels supply unavailable, while the other does not report supply or market cap. A cap comparison derived from those inconsistent inputs would imply more precision than the data warrants.

Why MATIC is not the current Polygon PoS benchmark
Polygon’s native gas and staking token on Polygon PoS is now POL, the successor to MATIC. Polygon Technology says: “Since September 2024, every transaction that takes place on Polygon PoS has used POL as the native gas token.” Polygon’s migration update says Ethereum MATIC holders can migrate to POL at a 1:1 ratio through Polygon Portal. Legacy MATIC may still appear in holdings or markets, but POL is the relevant network-token benchmark for this comparison.
Supply and token role affect how meaningful a match would be
RETIK’s stated supply and proposed utility
Retik Finance’s official site describes RETIK as an Ethereum mainnet ERC-20 token with a total supply of one billion and publishes its contract address and allocation breakdown. It presents the project as an ecosystem/governance token and describes DeFi debit cards, a payment gateway, P2P lending, and a multi-chain wallet. Those are project descriptions, not independent evidence of active users, revenue, or demand for RETIK.

The Retik whitepaper lists a physical-card launch in Q1 2026 as a roadmap milestone. The available source does not establish whether the cards launched or gained adoption, so the roadmap should not be treated as proof of delivery. Retik whitepaper
POL’s network role
POL has a direct role as Polygon PoS’s native gas and staking token following the MATIC migration. That role differs from RETIK’s project-described ecosystem and governance utility. Equal market caps, if achieved, would therefore not demonstrate equivalent network use or value capture.

What to check before comparing the tokens
A useful comparison requires more than a displayed market-cap number. Check that both figures use the same timestamp and the same supply definition, then examine whether trading activity can support the apparent valuation.
- Price and timestamp: Record each token’s displayed price and the UTC time of the snapshot.
- Supply methodology: Distinguish circulating supply from total or maximum supply, and identify whether the circulating figure is self-reported.
- Volume and liquidity: Compare trading volume and market depth at that same time. A displayed market cap does not show how much could be traded near the quoted price.
- Future dilution: Consider how tokens not currently circulating could affect supply; do not present an FDV scenario as today’s circulating market cap.
- Token role and delivery: Assess what each token is used for and distinguish project claims or roadmap milestones from demonstrated usage.
To calculate a RETIK price scenario responsibly, first obtain a same-time, verifiable circulating supply and a POL benchmark market cap. Divide that benchmark by the assumed RETIK circulating supply, and label the result as a scenario—not a forecast. Using RETIK’s one-billion total supply instead would produce an FDV-style scenario, not a circulating-market-cap comparison.

So, will RETIK replace Polygon’s market cap?
The available evidence does not justify saying that RETIK will replace POL’s market cap. It establishes a dated POL benchmark and RETIK’s stated total supply, but not a consistent, independently validated RETIK circulating supply and market cap. Nor does a market-cap comparison by itself establish that RETIK could reproduce Polygon’s token role or demand. Until comparable supply, price, liquidity, and volume data are available at the same time, any precise parity price or confident replacement claim would be speculative.
