Samsung announced Roh’s appointment on November 21, 2025, making him co-CEO alongside Jun. Their responsibilities are divided between the company’s major operating divisions.
Who are Samsung Electronics’ co-CEOs?
Samsung’s November 21, 2025 announcement named TM Roh Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division and co-CEO, joining Young Hyun Jun, Vice Chairman and Head of the Device Solutions (DS) Division. Samsung’s announcement describes them as co-CEOs of the company.
| Executive | Title and remit |
|---|---|
| TM Roh | Co-CEO; Head of the DX Division; continues overseeing the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, according to Samsung’s November 21, 2025 announcement. |
| Young Hyun Jun | Co-CEO and Vice Chairman; Head of the DS Division and Memory Business, according to Samsung’s November 21, 2025 announcement. |
Samsung’s U.S. leadership page lists Jun as Vice Chairman & CEO from 2025 to present. Samsung investor-relations material renders his given name as “Young-Hyun”; the leadership page and announcement use “Young Hyun.”
Why does Samsung have more than one CEO?
Samsung Electronics uses a co-CEO structure. Both executives hold the company-level CEO title, while their operating responsibilities are divided: Roh leads DX and oversees MX, and Jun leads DS and Memory. The titles do not indicate that one is CEO of the whole Samsung corporate group and the other of Samsung Electronics.

Is the Samsung board chair also the CEO?
No. The board chair is a separate role. Samsung’s board of directors page identifies Je-Yoon Shin as Chairman of the Board and Independent Director, distinct from Jun’s CEO role. Samsung says it separated the CEO and chair positions in 2018 and appointed an independent director as chair in February 2020. Samsung’s corporate governance page describes that separation.
What does “Samsung’s CEO” mean?
“Samsung” can refer to Samsung Electronics, the wider corporate group, or another separately named Samsung company. The answer above is specifically about Samsung Electronics; these sources do not establish a complete, current list of CEOs for every Samsung affiliate. Samsung’s U.S. leadership page, for example, lists distinct CEO roles for Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDI.
