The latest publicly reported information places Eminem’s primary residence in Clinton Township, Michigan, a suburb in the Detroit metropolitan area. It is separate from the large Oakland Township mansion he sold in 2017. Exact addresses are private and are not included here.
Where does Eminem live now?
Architectural Digest identified the Clinton Township home as Eminem’s primary residence in an April 2025 account, and Velvet Ropes reported the same location in a July 2026 update. These are published reports, not an independent verification of current property records. Clinton Township is in Metro Detroit; saying Eminem lives in the Detroit area is reasonable, but it is not the same as saying his current home is within the city of Detroit.
Architectural Digest reports that Eminem bought the home in September 2000 for a little under $1.5 million. Its account describes a house built in 1996, measuring a little under 9,000 square feet, with four bedrooms and six bathrooms. Those are historical reported details, not a recent inspection or a statement of the home’s present value. Architectural Digest’s account of Eminem’s homes
Eminem’s Michigan homes, in context
The properties associated with Eminem span his childhood in Detroit and later homes in the Detroit suburbs. The locations and reported transactions below distinguish the Clinton Township residence from the better-known mansion in Oakland Township.

| Place and period | Reported role | Reported property history |
|---|---|---|
| Detroit, teenage years | Childhood home associated with The Marshall Mathers LP cover | Architectural Digest describes a 767-square-foot, two-bedroom brick house on Dresden Avenue. It reports the house was demolished in 2013 after fire damage left it structurally unsound. The outlet also reported a 2022 plan by Detroit Hives to turn the lot into a bee sanctuary; that plan does not establish the site’s present condition. |
| Sterling Heights, 1999–2001 | Former family home shared with Kim Scott | Architectural Digest reports a $450,000 purchase in summer 1999 and a $475,000 sale in 2001. It describes the house as nearly 5,000 square feet and reports that fans and thieves’ visits became a privacy concern. |
| Clinton Township, from September 2000 | Reported primary residence | Architectural Digest reports a purchase for a little under $1.5 million. It describes the 1996-built home as a little under 9,000 square feet, with four bedrooms and six bathrooms. |
| Oakland Township, 2003–2017 | Former mansion, reportedly used infrequently | Architectural Digest reports a $4.75 million purchase of a 17,500-square-foot mansion and a 2017 sale for $1.9 million. The Independent reported in 2009 that Eminem rarely stayed there and continued to live at the Clinton Township home. |

Why the Oakland Township mansion is often confused with his home
The Oakland Township property attracted attention because it was a substantial mansion, but it is a former property, not the location identified in the latest cited reports as Eminem’s primary residence. Architectural Digest reports that he sold it in 2017. The Independent’s 2009 profile also distinguished the mansion from the Clinton Township home, saying Eminem rarely stayed at the former and continued to live at the latter.

Velvet Ropes’ July 2026 update likewise places the reported primary residence in Clinton Township. Its account discusses break-ins and later legal proceedings, but those details do not make a private home a public destination. Velvet Ropes’ report on Eminem’s Michigan homes

The Detroit house associated with the cover of The Marshall Mathers LP was reportedly demolished in 2013 after fire damage left it structurally unsound. Architectural Digest reported that 700 bricks from the house were sold as signed collectibles in 2016. It also described a Detroit Hives plan announced in 2022 for the lot, but that reported plan alone does not confirm what is there today.
