Amazon’s official name for the event was Prime Big Deal Days, and the deals were available only to Prime members. “October Prime Day” is the informal label many shoppers use, so searching for the official name will match Amazon’s own pages.
The official name and why it matters
Amazon did not market the October event as “Prime Day.” Its announcement called it Prime Big Deal Days, and that is the name to use when searching Amazon’s help pages, press materials or archived deal listings. Using the official name also avoids confusion with Amazon’s summer Prime Day, which is a separate event.
U.S. dates and start time
In the United States, the event ran for two days:
- Start: 12:01 a.m. PDT, October 7, 2025
- End: October 8, 2025 (Amazon’s U.S. announcement gave the two dates; it did not publish a closing clock time in the material reviewed)
The time is stated in Pacific Daylight Time. Readers in Eastern or Central time should convert from Pacific time rather than assume a local midnight start.
Times outside the U.S.
The event was not run on a single global clock. Amazon’s U.K. announcement gave its own local window, and the two schedules are not interchangeable:

Other countries were included in the U.S. announcement’s list of participating markets, but the material reviewed did not give separate local start and end times for them. Check the Amazon site for the country you shop in before relying on a local clock time.

Amazon’s U.S. release listed these countries as part of the event: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the United States, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Ireland and Mexico. That list reflects that one announcement, not a claim about every Amazon marketplace.

Who could shop the deals
Amazon described the offers as exclusive to Prime members. Shoppers without a Prime membership were not eligible for the event’s deals as announced. Prime membership pricing and sign-up terms are set by Amazon and vary by country, so check Amazon’s membership pages for current terms rather than relying on any 2025 figure.
What Amazon said was on sale
Amazon described “millions of deals” across categories including beauty, electronics, gifts, home, toys, apparel and seasonal essentials. Its U.K. announcement used the wording “hundreds of thousands” of deals. These are each market’s own descriptions and should not be merged into a single number. The categories are examples from Amazon’s announcement, not a list of specific products that were discounted.
