Where to Buy Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Now That Pre-Orders Have Closed

You can no longer pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The game launched on October 25, 2024, so the question today is where to buy it and which edition is worth the money. This guide covers the official purchase routes, the edition differences Activision described at launch, and a checklist for spending as little as possible on the version you actually need.

Why pre-orders are no longer available

Pre-orders were a launch-period offer. Black Ops 6 released on October 25, 2024, and the pre-order window, along with its bonuses, closed at launch. Any page still advertising a pre-order for the base game is out of date. Buy the game directly from a live store page instead.

Where to buy Black Ops 6 today

Start with official storefronts. They show the current price, the edition list, and which platforms each version supports.

• Activision product page: The official Call of Duty site presents the purchase options, including Vault Edition and Cross-Gen / Standard, and asks you to choose a platform before buying.
• PlayStation Store: PlayStation has its own official listing for the game on PS5 and PS4-compatible routes, which is the direct route for digital PlayStation purchases.
• Xbox and Microsoft Store: The game page lists Xbox routes and the Microsoft Store as the PC storefront for applicable editions.
• Battle.net and Steam: Both are listed as PC storefronts for the game.
• Game Pass: The product page lists Game Pass for the Cross-Gen / Standard edition. Game Pass access depends on your plan, your region, and the current subscription catalog, so confirm it inside the Game Pass service before you assume it is included.

Physical copies are sold by retailers, not by Activision’s store. Whether a retailer has stock, what condition a used copy is in, and who the seller is are all details you must check on the retailer’s own listing. Activision’s 2024 edition guide confirmed the physical formats it offered at launch, but that does not tell you what is in stock now.

Choosing an edition: what the launch guide described

Activision’s June 2024 edition guide described the options below. Retailers and storefronts may have changed their listings since then, so treat this table as a description of launch-era terms, not a current offer.

Digital Cross-Gen or Standard

This is the base purchase. On consoles, Cross-Gen is the edition to choose if you are unsure which console generation you will play on, because it includes both the current- and previous-generation console versions. PC buyers get the Standard Edition. This is the lowest-cost route the guide described, and it is the only option that did not include premium extras.

Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 - PlayStation 5

• Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.
• This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
• The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
• In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.

Vault Edition

Vault Edition adds cosmetic and bundled content on top of the base game. Before paying the higher price, decide whether the included items matter to you. If you never plan to use them, the difference is money spent on extras. If you already plan to buy the base game and want the extras later, the launch-era upgrade rule matters: an upgrade had to happen on the same platform as the original purchase. You cannot buy the base game on one platform and upgrade it on another.

Physical copies

Physical copies have a few practical limits that digital copies do not:

• A PS5 disc only works in a PS5 with a disc drive. Check whether your console model has one.
• Xbox Series S models do not have a disc drive, so a physical Xbox disc will not play on them. Confirm your console model before buying a disc.
• A physical buyer at launch could not upgrade to Vault Edition under the guide’s terms, so buy the edition you actually want on disc.
• Used copies and third-party sellers add condition and authenticity risks. Read the seller’s listing carefully and confirm it matches the platform and edition you need.

What the 2024 prices and pre-order bonuses mean now

The $69.99 and $99.99 figures are the suggested retail prices Activision published in June 2024 for the digital Cross-Gen or PC Standard edition and for Vault Edition. They are launch-era numbers, not a current price. Store prices change with sales, regional pricing, and platform promotions, so compare the live price on the store page before you buy.

The pre-order bonuses, including Open Beta Early Access and the Woods Operator Pack for digital pre-orders, were tied to the 2024 pre-order period and beta. They are not something you can claim now. If a seller offers a “pre-order bonus” on a 2026 listing, treat that offer as a marketing claim and verify it on the official store page before you pay for it.

A budget checklist before you buy

1. Confirm your platform and, on consoles, your console model. Cross-Gen covers both console generations; a PS5 or Xbox disc requires a compatible drive.
2. Check whether Game Pass already covers the game on your plan and in your region before paying for a copy.
3. Compare the live price on Activision’s product page, the PlayStation Store or Xbox route, and the PC storefront you already use. Use the official store as your baseline price.
4. Decide whether Vault Edition’s extras are worth the difference to you. If not, buy Cross-Gen or Standard.
5. For physical copies, check the retailer’s stock, seller rating, and return terms, and confirm the edition matches your console.
6. Keep the order confirmation and check the platform’s refund policy for digital purchases before you commit, since those rules vary by storefront.

The main cost decision is between the base edition and Vault Edition, and between buying digitally on your platform and paying for a disc. Make those two choices first, then check the price on the store you plan to use.
