What is VeChain?
VeChain is the organization and ecosystem associated with VeChainThor, a public blockchain. A blockchain is a shared digital ledger: applications can use it to record transactions and other data, while the network processes those records. The ledger alone does not verify whether information entered into an application is true; that depends on how the application collects and validates its inputs.
UFC’s partnership announcements use “VeChain” for the sponsor and describe VeBetter as an application platform running on VeChainThor. These names refer to related but distinct parts of the ecosystem.
What did UFC and VeChain announce?
The June 2022 sponsorship announcement
On June 9, 2022, UFC announced a long-term global marketing partnership and called VeChain its first Official Layer 1 Blockchain Partner. UFC said the partnership would include:

UFC said branded assets would debut at UFC 275 on June 11, 2022. These were activations described in the announcement, not confirmation that every element continues unchanged. The September 2024 VeBetter update
On September 12, 2024, UFC announced an upgrade to the marketing collaboration focused on VeBetter. UFC described VeBetter as an application platform on VeChainThor whose decentralized apps (dApps) reward sustainable actions with B3TR tokens. How do VET, VTHO and B3TR differ?
These tokens have different roles in the material described by UFC and VeChain. They should not be treated as interchangeable.

VeChain’s documentation also describes a fee market in which the base fee is burned and the priority fee goes to the block proposer after the Galactica upgrade. Because these mechanics can change with network upgrades, consult the current documentation for operational or economic details rather than assuming a description remains valid indefinitely.

Why did VeChain sponsor the UFC?
The announcements position the partnership as a way to connect VeChain’s blockchain and sustainability applications with UFC’s audience through marketing, event visibility and fan engagement. In the 2024 update, the focus shifted toward promoting VeBetter and its reward model. Those are the parties’ stated goals; sponsorship does not demonstrate that a blockchain is useful for every fan or that a sustainability claim has been independently verified.
In the 2022 announcement, VeChain co-founder and CEO Sunny Lu said the partnership would raise awareness of blockchain technology and sustainability. His comments—including comparative descriptions of VeChain and the sport—were promotional statements by a company executive, not independently established rankings. Is VeChain still a UFC sponsor?
UFC announced the partnership in 2022 and an upgrade focused on VeBetter in 2024. Those announcements establish the relationship at those points in time, but do not confirm its present contractual status or whether every original activation remains in place. The accurate description is that UFC announced a partnership with VeChain and later announced an upgrade to the collaboration; the available announcements do not establish whether it is still active today.
Does UFC’s sponsorship mean VET is a good investment?
No. A sponsorship is a marketing relationship, not an endorsement of VET as an investment and not evidence that its price will rise. The announcements describe partnership activities and products, not investment suitability, returns, or risk. Anyone evaluating a crypto asset should distinguish a company’s promotional partnership from the token’s own risks and use case.
