The most widely reported combined prize pot for Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua was about $184 million, roughly £140 million. That figure came from a pre-fight media estimate. Neither the promoters nor Netflix have published an official purse for the fight, so $184 million should be presented as a reported estimate, not a confirmed payout. A separate $267 million figure circulated as well, but it is an interpretation of a remark by Jake Paul, not a contract figure.
What the official sources confirm
Before looking at any money figure, it helps to separate what the event announcement and post-fight materials actually say from what was reported around them.
- The event: Most Valuable Promotions and Kaseya Center announced the professional heavyweight bout on November 17, 2025. It was scheduled for December 19, 2025, at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, and streamed live on Netflix. The announcement did not publish a purse.
- The result: Netflix’s post-fight page and the official result release both confirm that Anthony Joshua won by sixth-round knockout. Netflix’s company statement reads: “Anthony Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) delivered a sixth-round knockout of Jake Paul (12-2, 7 KOs).” It is an unattributed company statement, not a quote from a named person.
- The audience: Netflix reported 33 million global viewers for the event. That is a viewing claim from the streaming platform, and it does not indicate what either fighter was paid.
None of these official items states a total purse, a per-fighter fee, or a revenue split.
The $184 million estimate
The figure most often repeated is about £140 million, or $184 million. The Independent relayed a pre-fight Daily Mail report with that amount in a December 20, 2025 article. Al Jazeera, in a December 16, 2025 report, described the same $184 million as an initially reported figure rather than a formally confirmed purse.

Two points matter for accuracy. First, the pound and dollar amounts are one reported estimate expressed in two currencies, not two separate pots, so they should never be added together. Second, the estimate describes the combined pot for the event, not what each boxer personally received.
The $267 million figure
A larger number, $267 million, circulated after Jake Paul made a remark that some readers interpreted as a statement of the total purse. Sporting News discussed that interpretation in a December 20, 2025 report. The report does not establish that the amount was contracted, confirmed by either side, or paid. It is best treated as a reading of a comment, not financial information.

How the two figures compare
| Figure | Where it came from | Status | What it measures |
|---|---|---|---|
| About $184 million (about £140 million) | Pre-fight Daily Mail estimate, relayed by The Independent (December 20, 2025) and cited by Al Jazeera (December 16, 2025) | Reported estimate; not officially disclosed | Combined event pot, as estimated |
| $267 million | Interpretation of a remark by Jake Paul, discussed by Sporting News (December 20, 2025) | Interpretation; not verified | Read by some as the total purse; no contract confirmed |
| Official event and post-fight materials | Most Valuable Promotions, Kaseya Center, and Netflix | Published without a purse | Not stated |
The comparison shows why the two numbers cannot be averaged or ranked as more or less accurate. They have different origins and different levels of support.
Why a per-fighter split cannot be stated as fact
Many readers want to know how the total was divided. The sources do not support an answer, so treat the following as off-limits unless a primary source confirms them:

- No confirmed equal split. Dividing $184 million or $267 million by two produces a number, but not a payment. Figures such as $92 million per fighter should not be presented as confirmed.
- No confirmed individual earnings. No reviewed source establishes what either Jake Paul or Anthony Joshua received.
- Unknown adjustments. Bonuses, revenue shares, taxes, and deductions are not disclosed in the sources, so take-home pay cannot be derived from a headline pot.
How to phrase the purse accurately
A precise sentence for an article, a caption, or a social post is: “The purse was widely reported at about $184 million, although the promoters and Netflix have not publicly confirmed that total.” Avoid language such as “the fighters split $184 million” or “Paul earned $267 million,” because both imply verified payment.

The official position could change only if the promoters, the fighters, or a relevant regulator publish contract or payment details. Until then, the most defensible answer is the reported estimate, labeled as such, alongside the official facts about the event itself.
