Bitget is a cryptocurrency exchange launched in 2018. It offers services including spot trading, futures and copy trading, but which products you can use depends on your location and account eligibility. Its Proof of Reserves disclosures are company-published reports—not independent guarantees of solvency or uninterrupted access to funds.

What is Bitget?

Bitget is an online cryptocurrency exchange and trading-services business, not a physical product. The company says it has been building its exchange since 2018. Its about page describes exchange services alongside educational content.

Bitget’s scale and “largest” statements on its own site are promotional claims; they should not be treated as independently established measures of its size or standing.

What can you do on Bitget?

Bitget advertises several kinds of cryptocurrency trading. Product availability and supported assets can change, and the services available to an individual account may depend on jurisdiction and eligibility.

Service What it means
Spot trading Buying or selling crypto assets at the current market price for settlement in the asset being traded.
Futures Derivatives contracts. Bitget lists USDT-M, USDC-M and Coin-M futures; these are products it advertises, not recommendations.
Copy trading A feature that lets users follow or copy selected traders’ activity. Copying another trader does not remove the risk of loss.

Check Bitget’s current product terms and the rules that apply where you live before relying on a particular feature or asset being available.

What does Bitget’s Proof of Reserves show?

Proof of Reserves is a disclosure about assets and liabilities under a stated method and at a particular time. Bitget says users can check inclusion through its Merkle-tree-based system. Such a snapshot can provide information about the assets included in that report, but it does not by itself establish overall solvency, legal protection, or that withdrawals will remain available without interruption.

Bitget Support’s September 30, 2026 update said a security incident occurred on September 24 and that an updated Proof of Reserves showed user assets fully backed 1:1. That is Bitget’s account of the incident and its reserves; the update does not establish the incident’s technical cause or independently assess the response.

Other reported reserve figures are historical company disclosures, not current guarantees. Bitget’s July 28, 2026 announcement reported an average 122% reserve ratio across BTC, ETH, USDT and USDC. An October 2026 company post said its September report showed a 135% total reserve ratio and expanded coverage from four assets to 19. These figures refer to different reports and coverage; they should not be read as a single, independently verified measure of safety.

Is Bitget regulated or available where you live?

Bitget’s about page makes a general claim about global regulatory licenses, but that statement alone does not identify which legal entity serves a particular country or what permissions and restrictions apply there. Before opening an account, check the exact Bitget entity named in the account terms and confirm its status in official records from your local regulator. Do not assume that a service advertised globally is available or authorized in your jurisdiction.

What to check before using Bitget

  • Whether the relevant Bitget entity may serve customers in your country, and what protections apply.
  • Whether the specific asset and product you want to use are available to your account.
  • The current fees, funding and withdrawal terms, and any applicable limits.
  • What a reserve report covers, when it was published, and what it does—and does not—verify.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
