Did Terrashroom get a deal on Shark Tank?
No. Terrashroom appeared in Season 16, Episode 4, which aired November 8, 2024. Founder Jared Steele asked for $175,000 in exchange for 2.5% equity, implying a $7 million valuation. What was Terrashroom?
Terrashroom was marketed as an automated chamber for growing mushrooms at home. The company described a process in which a user placed an included mushroom grow cake inside, added water, and followed directions in a smartphone app. It said the device adjusted temperature, humidity, air circulation, and lighting. Those are company descriptions, not independently verified performance results. The product description appears on Terrashroom’s Wefunder page.
Did Terrashroom ship its product after the show?
Terrashroom’s Wefunder page said the product was being manufactured and that its first batch was expected to start shipping in early spring. The page reported 6,500+ paid customers and 25,000+ people on a pre-launch email waitlist; it also showed $294,154 raised from 98 investors, with April 2024 identified as the last funding date. These are company-reported fundraising-page figures, not audited sales or proof that those customers received products.

A secondary Shark Tank Update recap later reported that products had started shipping and that the company planned additional production in 2025. It also reported a field-testing batch in August 2024. The available reporting does not establish how many orders were fulfilled or when individual shipments arrived.
Is Terrashroom still in business, and can you buy one?
A third-party Terrashroom company-status listing labels the business “Out of Business” and says its website and products are no longer available, including on Amazon. This is evidence that the company appears no longer to be operating, but it does not prove legal dissolution or establish its current customer-support status.

The exact circumstances of the closure and the outcomes for customers—including whether particular orders were delivered, refunded, or covered by warranty—are not confirmed by the accessible evidence. A June 24, 2025 company-update page is referenced online, but its contents could not be verified; its title alone does not establish what the company announced. Therefore, it is not possible to say that all customers received units or refunds, or that all lost their money.

If you want to grow edible mushrooms at home, look for a currently available edible mushroom grow kit from a seller that clearly states what species it includes, what substrate and instructions come with it, how many flushes it expects, where it ships, and how support works. A conventional kit is not the same as Terrashroom: do not assume it automates temperature, humidity, airflow, or lighting, or that it is compatible with Terrashroom’s chamber.
