Why Vibes appeared on Shark Tank—and what happened to the deal
Vibes appeared in Season 8, Episode 14, which aired January 27, 2017, according to the episode recap from Shark Tank Blog. Mann asked for $100,000 in exchange for 20% of the company.
The recap describes the Sharks trying the earplugs during a loud brass-band demonstration. Their concerns included whether customers would understand the product, how it could be distributed at venues, and its higher price compared with foam earplugs. O’Leary offered $100,000 for 35% of the company, plus $2 for every pair sold until he recovered his investment. Mann declined, so he left the Tank without a deal. How Vibes reportedly performed after the show
Shark Tank Blog reported that Vibes sold out its inventory after the episode and later addressed inventory problems. The same source reported $2 million in sales in 2018 and $12 million in lifetime revenue as of August 2024. A company tracker updated March 4, 2026, labels Vibes “In Business” and says it is operating and serving customers (company status listing). Vibes’ official product page also currently displays its earplugs (Vibes product page). Together, these pages suggest the brand remains active; they do not amount to a direct company statement confirming its corporate status.
What Vibes sells now
The official site lists “Vibes Hi-Fidelity Earplugs with Plastic Pocket Case.” At the time the page was accessed, it displayed a price of $28.95 and described the earplugs for concerts, festivals, and motorsports. The package includes a compact plastic pocket case. The page also lists an attachable neck cord and an aluminum keychain carrying case.
