It does not give every brand on the company’s roster its own distinct assignment. These are management’s intended roles—not independent proof that the strategy has reduced overlap or improved performance.
How Stellantis groups its brands in the 2026 strategy
The company’s current framework is built around four categories: global, regional, specialty and pure luxury. Stellantis says the aim is to sharpen brand differences, focus investment, share assets and serve different markets and customers. The strategy names brands within these groups, but does not provide a complete market-by-market map or a distinct mission for every name in the portfolio.
| Strategy role | Brands | What Stellantis says the role means |
|---|---|---|
| Global | Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and FIAT | Brands with the scale and profit potential to serve multiple regions and act as “natural first-launchers” for new global assets. |
| Regional | Chrysler, Dodge, Citroën, Opel and Alfa Romeo | Brands focused on their respective strong markets, using shared global assets while building clearer differentiation. |
| Specialty | DS and Lancia | Historic brands prominent in France and Italy, respectively. Citroën manages DS; FIAT manages Lancia. |
| Pure luxury | Maserati | A brand Stellantis plans to strengthen as a pure-luxury marque. |
These descriptions and groupings come from Stellantis’ FaSTLAne 2030 strategy. They describe intended portfolio roles, not measured brand performance.
What the global role means for Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and FIAT
Stellantis identifies Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and FIAT as its four global brands. In the plan, global status is tied to reach, scale and the ability to introduce shared assets across markets—not a claim that every model from each brand is sold everywhere. Stellantis calls these brands “natural first-launchers” for new global assets.

The plan also concentrates investment: Stellantis says 70% of brand and product investment will go to the four global brands and Pro One. That is a stated allocation in the company’s 2026 plan, not a report of spending already completed. The strategy also describes approximately 60% of total investment going toward more than 60 new vehicles and 50 significant refreshes across brands and powertrain types.
What the regional role means for five brands
Chrysler, Dodge, Citroën, Opel and Alfa Romeo are designated regional brands. Stellantis says they will focus on their respective strong markets while benefiting from shared global assets and greater differentiation. The strategy does not define precise geographic boundaries for each brand or publish a complete country-by-country assignment, so the label should not be read as a detailed sales map.

Why DS and Lancia are specialty brands
Stellantis places DS and Lancia in specialty roles, noting their historic prominence in France and Italy, respectively. It also assigns management responsibility: Citroën manages DS, while FIAT manages Lancia. This is distinct from the regional category; the strategy calls these two brands specialty brands rather than listing them among its five regional brands.
Maserati’s pure-luxury assignment
Stellantis says it plans to strengthen Maserati’s future as a pure luxury brand and refers to two new E-segment vehicles. Its strategy page says a more detailed roadmap is expected by December 2026; the current passage does not set out that roadmap.

Which Stellantis brands do not get a separate role here?
Stellantis’ current portfolio page lists 14 vehicle brands: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS Automobiles, FIAT, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall. It also lists two mobility brands, Free2move and Leasys. The FaSTLAne group summary does not assign Abarth or Vauxhall a distinct role, and Free2move and Leasys are mobility brands rather than vehicle brands. Their omission from the group summary is not evidence that they have no purpose; it means the cited strategy passage does not state an individual role for them.
How this differs from Stellantis’ 2022 brand map
A 2022 annual general meeting presentation used a different grouping: Maserati as luxury; Alfa Romeo, DS and Lancia as premium; Jeep as global sport utility; Dodge, Ram and Chrysler as American-rooted; and Peugeot, Opel, Vauxhall, Fiat, Abarth and Citroën as European-rooted. That was an earlier framework, not a second set of labels to combine with the current strategy. In particular, the 2026 plan classifies DS and Lancia as specialty brands and puts FIAT among four global brands. The historical categories appear in Stellantis’ 2022 AGM presentation.

What Stellantis says the portfolio is designed to cover
At its 2024 Investor Day, Stellantis described its portfolio as spanning the pricing spectrum, serving local-hero markets and niches such as off-road and American muscle, and aiming for minimum brand overlap with efficient coverage. Those are corporate descriptions of the portfolio’s intended fit, not independent findings that overlap has been eliminated or that the brands are profitable. CEO Antonio Filosa introduced the FaSTLAne plan by saying: “We have great people, global scale, unmatched brands, deep regional roots and strong dealer partnerships.” That is the company’s rationale for its strategy, not an external assessment of results.
