Watford FC reported £28.1 million in wages and salary costs for the financial year ended 30 June 2025. That is the latest filed club-wide figure identified, not a current first-team-only wage bill. For 2026/27, salary trackers disagree over the highest-paid player: Capology names Edoardo Bove, while SalaryLeaks names Imran Louza. Neither estimate is an official disclosure of a player’s contract.
What is Watford’s annual wage bill?
In its strategic report for the year ended 30 June 2025, Watford Association Football Club Limited reported wages and salary costs of £28.1 million, down from £33 million in the previous financial year. The figure is the club’s reported cost for that period; the cited report does not separate current first-team player pay from other wages and salary costs. The latest accounts identified in the Companies House filing history were filed on 25 March 2026.
Watford also reported that wages represented 108% of revenue in 2024/25, compared with 57% in 2023/24. This is the club’s reported wages-to-revenue ratio, not a measure of what any individual player earns. See the Watford FC 2024/25 accounts and the Companies House filing history.
Who is Watford’s highest-paid player?
There is no confirmed answer in the available public figures. For 2026/27, two salary trackers name different players, and both figures are estimates rather than disclosed contract terms.

| Source and season | Named highest earner | Estimated pay | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Capology, 2026/27 | Edoardo Bove | £30,000 gross per week; £1.56 million a year | Estimated fixed first-team salary; bonuses excluded |
| SalaryLeaks, 2026/27 | Imran Louza | About £1.6 million a year | Third-party estimate; the cited page does not establish the contract terms behind the figure |
Because the sources disagree, neither player should be described as Watford’s confirmed top earner. The estimates should not be combined: they identify different players and do not provide a common basis for comparison.
Why the wage figures are not directly comparable
The £28.1 million figure is a club-reported total for a completed financial year. A tracker’s annual salary estimate covers a different scope and season. For example, Capology estimates Watford’s 2026/27 gross fixed first-team wages at £17.654 million a year, excluding bonuses. SalaryLeaks estimates first-team salaries at £17.3 million for 2025/26, a different season. These estimates are not substitutes for the filed club total.

- Period: The accounts cover the financial year to 30 June 2025; tracker figures are assigned to football seasons.
- Scope: The accounts report club wages and salary costs, while the cited Capology total is for first-team wages.
- Pay basis: Capology specifies gross fixed salary and excludes bonuses. A figure without the same stated basis may not be comparable.
- Evidence type: The accounts are club-reported figures; player-level tracker amounts are estimates, not contract disclosures.
How to read a Watford salary estimate
When comparing figures, check the season, whether the amount is club-wide or first-team-only, whether it is gross or net, and whether bonuses are included. Those distinctions explain why a club’s reported wages and salary costs can be larger than a tracker’s estimate of first-team salaries without the figures contradicting each other.
