Is Waypoint HR cloud-based, and what does the provider say about security?
Yes. Waypoint HR describes Core HR as a fully managed cloud web application; users do not need to install software. The provider says the service includes automatic backups and software updates. It also says it uses access controls, encryption at rest, firewalls, virtual networks and platform monitoring.
Those are the provider’s descriptions, not independent verification. Is Waypoint HR open source?
Current official Waypoint HR terms describe the product as a platform delivered as a service over the internet and state that customers have no right to its source or object code. A LinuxLinks profile dated November 11, 2021 described a project called WaypointHR as open source, with a MySQL database and PHP/JavaScript implementation. The relationship between that historical project and the current official service is not established, so the older listing is not evidence that the current offering is open source.
