Both appointments took effect immediately, and both executives were to be based at the company’s Rio de Janeiro headquarters. The roles described here are the ones stated at the time of that announcement. The sources behind it do not establish whether either executive still holds the role today.
Who the two executives are
The announcement was written by the company and reflects its own description of each executive’s background at the time. Those details have not been independently checked against later biographies, so treat them as company-reported.
Tatiana Cantinho, General Manager
Warner Music Group says Cantinho has more than 20 years of experience in the music industry. Before founding Stamina Musical in 2022, she held regional roles at Sony Music and at Som Livre. The release does not list the specific positions or dates for those earlier roles.
Mariana Frensel, Director of Marketing
Frensel is returning to the company. The release says she spent eight years at Match Group, most recently as Director of Revenue and Growth, New Verticals. Earlier, she served at Warner Music Brasil as International Label Manager from 2011 to 2015.

Roles at the time of the announcement
The announcement names several leaders and describes what each would handle. The table below separates the titles from the responsibilities the release attributes to each role. These are planned responsibilities, not reported results.
| Person or team | Title or role (as stated) | Responsibilities described in the announcement |
|---|---|---|
| Tatiana Cantinho | General Manager (Portuguese trade report: Diretora Geral) | General management and overall leadership coordination for the label, based in Rio de Janeiro |
| Mariana Frensel | Director of Marketing (Portuguese trade report: Diretora de Marketing) | Marketing and the development of artist narratives, which the release describes as central to the company’s approach |
| Marcos Kilzer | A&R Director (continuing role) | Continues to lead A&R and works closely with Cantinho |
| Thiago Abreu | Head of the new Creative Services team | Supports A&R and Marketing, handles special brand partnerships and live-music projects, and reports to Leila Oliveira |
| Leila Oliveira | President, Warner Music Brazil | Named in the release as the leader to whom the Creative Services team reports |
The English release uses “General Manager” and “Director of Marketing.” A Portuguese-language trade report published August 30, 2024 used “Diretora Geral” and “Diretora de Marketing.” Both sources agree on the roles, the start timing and the Rio base.

The A&R and Marketing reorganization
The hires were presented as part of a restructuring of the A&R and Marketing departments. According to the release, the reorganization focused these departments on five genre areas:
- Sertanejo
- Forró
- Samba
- Funk
- Urban music
The company framed the changes as a way to strengthen Warner Music Brasil’s leadership and its presence across domestic genres. The release describes plans and intent. It does not report measured outcomes from the new structure.
Market figures Warner cited
The release also cites three market statistics. It attributes them to “the latest IFPI figures,” but it does not name the IFPI report or give its publication year. These numbers should be read as the company’s own citation of industry data as of 2024, not as current 2026 measurements, and the announcement is not itself an IFPI publication.
- US$573.6 million: the stated value of Brazil’s recorded-music market, per the Warner Music Group release of 2024 (attributed to latest IFPI figures).
- 13.39%: the stated prior-year growth for the market, per the same release and attribution.
- 87.1%: the stated share of industry revenue that comes from streaming, per the same release and attribution.
What the executives said
Each named executive is quoted in the release. The quotes are reproduced here as they appear in the English-language announcement.
Rank #4
- Tatiana Cantinho, named General Manager: “We need to be more nimble than ever when it comes to connecting artists with fans and building a wave of support for our talent that can be turned into a sustainable career.”
- Mariana Frensel, named Director of Marketing: “Leila has a vision for how a modern music company should evolve and the importance of artist narratives is at the heart of it.”
- Leila Oliveira, President of Warner Music Brazil: “This is a key moment for Warner Music Brazil.”
What the announcement establishes, and what it does not
The announcement is a reliable source for the appointment titles, the August 29, 2024 date, the immediate start, the Rio de Janeiro base, the reporting line for Creative Services, and the genre priorities. The Portuguese trade report from August 30, 2024 matches these points.
It does not establish several things a reader might assume:
