When Walmart Canada’s Week 2 gaming deals ran

A separate SmartCanucks flyer roundup said Week 2 offers began online at 9 p.m. Eastern on November 20 and in stores on November 21. The two reports corroborate the price point, but their bundle descriptions differ; check the exact console configuration rather than assuming the listings are identical.
How to interpret the reported discounts
The price list covered distinct kinds of purchases: individual games, controllers, a console bundle, a VR hardware bundle and a handheld PC. A lower price is not a like-for-like comparison across those categories. For a game, check its platform and edition; for hardware, compare the exact bundle or model and what it includes. The regular prices in the table are the comparison figures reported by MobileSyrup, not a current market-price check.

Walmart Connect Canada’s FY25 Holiday Insights, published in 2024 and based on Walmart first-party data from November–December 2023, offers context about that prior holiday season. It reported that shoppers were 11 times more likely to purchase high-price-band than low-price-band gaming items online, and 9.5 times more likely in-store. It also reported gaming online sales growth of over 100% year over year during Black Friday. These are Walmart Connect Canada’s figures for the 2023 period, not results for the November 2024 Week 2 promotion.
The same report identified Nintendo Switch, PS5 console, Nintendo Switch games, PS5 games, Xbox Series X and PS5 controller among Walmart’s top holiday gaming search terms, based on 2023 first-party data. These are Walmart-reported search terms, not a general consumer survey.
