The reported estate dispute over Virginia Giuffre began in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in Perth, not Washington State. At the first reported hearing on November 28, 2025, her sons sought authority to administer her estate, while her former attorney and former carer argued that a handwritten informal will naming them should be considered. The available reports do not establish that the court accepted the document as a valid will or decided who should administer the estate.

Which court is hearing the estate dispute?

The case is before the Supreme Court of Western Australia in Perth. “WA Supreme Court” can be mistaken for Washington State’s Supreme Court, but this proceeding concerns Western Australia. The Washington State Courts’ official site is a reference for that separate jurisdiction: Washington State Courts.

Who is seeking control of the estate?

At the first reported hearing, Christian and Noah Giuffre applied to be appointed administrators of their mother’s estate. Their ages were reported as 19 and 18 respectively by the Associated Press on November 28, 2025; those are ages at the time of publication, not current ages. Her former attorney, Karrie Louden, and former carer, Cheryl Myers, opposed the application. ABC News reported that they relied on an alleged informal handwritten will that purportedly named them as executors and trustees. These are competing positions, not findings about the document’s validity or anyone’s entitlement.

Position Basis reported What is established
Christian and Noah Giuffre Application to be appointed estate administrators, as reported by ABC News and the Associated Press on November 28, 2025. Their application was before the court; the reports do not establish that it was granted.
Karrie Louden and Cheryl Myers Opposition to the sons’ application and an argument that an alleged handwritten informal will should be considered valid, as reported by ABC News on November 28, 2025. The purported will named them as executors and trustees, according to ABC; the reports do not establish that the court recognized it as valid.

What happened at the first reported hearing?

ABC News reported that Registrar Danielle Davies said Giuffre’s husband should be joined or at least notified because a counterclaim could affect his entitlement. ABC quoted Davies: “It appears to me that the deceased’s husband should be joined or at the very least notified,” and, “Now there’s a defence counterclaim that would remove his entitlement … it seems he should be joined as a party to the proceedings.” The same report said the parties were directed to lodge further documents.

The Associated Press also reported that a temporary administrator had been appointed, and described possible involvement of Giuffre’s estranged husband and daughter. The AP said the daughter could not be named for legal reasons; she is not identified here. These accounts describe procedural developments and litigant positions, not a final ruling on the estate.

Is there a confirmed next hearing or ruling?

The contemporaneous ABC report said another hearing was anticipated in 2026. That was an expectation reported after the November 28, 2025 hearing, not confirmation of a later date. The subsequent Western Australian hearing schedule and orders are not verified in the available reporting, so no current next-hearing date or ruling on administration or the alleged will can be stated.

Does the 2026 U.S. court order update the Australian case?

No. A September 3, 2026 order in the separate U.S. federal case Giuffre v. Maxwell substituted Ian Torrington Blatchford, described in that order as interim administrator of Giuffre’s estate, as plaintiff. That establishes his procedural role in that federal litigation only; it does not establish the latest status or outcome of the Western Australian probate dispute.

What could be at stake financially?

ABC News reported that possible revenue from Giuffre’s memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, was among the interests connected to the estate. That does not establish who controls any rights or proceeds. The reporting available here does not establish a reliable, settled total value for the estate, and settlement amounts or possible proceeds should not be treated as the value of estate assets.
