Meezan Bank’s Visa Student Debit Card is available to eligible Meezan Asaan Student Account holders in Pakistan aged 18–24. Visa and Meezan announced the partnership on January 22, 2025, describing the card as Pakistan’s first Visa card issued solely for students. The announcement said the initiative was intended to advance financial inclusion; it did not establish that the card has produced measurable inclusion or financial-literacy outcomes.
Who is eligible for the Meezan student debit card?
You must have a Meezan Asaan Student Account and be 18–24 years old, according to Meezan’s student-card page. The bank’s account-opening information lists a valid NADRA-issued CNIC, proof of studentship—such as a student ID or fee voucher—and a SIM registered in the applicant’s name among the requirements.

Meezan describes digital account opening on its account page. Check its current application flow and requirements before applying, as the student-card page’s eligibility rules and the account’s opening requirements are separate parts of the process.
What can the card be used for?
Meezan lists ATM cash withdrawals, point-of-sale purchases, e-commerce payments and NFC contactless transactions. The bank also describes the card as having an EMV chip, 3D Secure for online transactions, and access to cardholder discounts. These are features stated by the bank, not independent assessments of security or discount availability.

What are the student card’s limits?
The dedicated student-card page publishes the following limits. Meezan may change them, so check the live page or current Schedule of Charges before relying on a limit.

What does the card cost?
Meezan’s student-card page lists no annual charge and a PKR 500 replacement charge for a lost, stolen or damaged card. Its Asaan Student Account page says first issuance and the annual fee are free, but that replacement is charged according to the Schedule of Charges. Since the pages describe replacement fees differently, confirm the applicable amount with Meezan or consult its current schedule before ordering a replacement.

How do you activate it?
Meezan lists three activation routes: its mobile app, helpline or a Meezan ATM. The app activation flow includes setting a four-digit PIN. Follow the prompts in the current app or instructions from the bank; the page does not establish that every activation route uses the same PIN-setting steps.
What should you do if the card is lost?
Call Meezan’s 24/7 helpline to report a lost card. The student-card page says the old card will be cancelled and a replacement issued free if the dispute is resolved in the customer’s favour. That specific condition sits alongside the page’s separately listed PKR 500 replacement charge, so ask the bank which rule applies to your case.

What did the launch mean by financial inclusion?
In its January 22, 2025 announcement, Meezan and Visa framed the card as a way to introduce digitally engaged students to digital finance and responsible financial habits. Meezan CEO Irfan Siddiqui said the partnership would help students manage their finances while building financial literacy; Visa Country Manager for Pakistan and Afghanistan Umar Khan described it as an initiative targeting youth. These statements explain the partners’ aims, not demonstrated results.
The launch announcement cited a 21% financial-inclusion rate attributed to the State Bank of Pakistan and more than 2.4 million higher-education students, but the retrieved announcement does not specify the data year or definitions behind either figure. Visa repeated the figures in a later corporate article without clarifying those details. They should not be read as 2026 statistics.

The announcement said the initiative was timed for Q1 2025. Meezan now describes the card as available, but the exact date the first card was issued is not established in the cited materials.
